Hey everyone,
I received this letter today from CST law complaining about a debt that I had with smart parking originally. I had received letters from debt collector to which I ignored as I saw on the internet that it wouldn’t escalate to anything. Almost a year later from the ‘incident’ happening I’ve received this letter. Is there anything I can do or should I just pay the fine.

IGNORE
That would be my choice4 -
CST Law is a trading name of Credit Style Ltd who own Debt Recovery Plus, see the scam here all the same people pretending to be different companies. All debt recovery garbage trying to bamboozle you into paying a scam, please stop calling this speculative charge a "fine" no private parking firm issues fines you can search from now to Christmas you will not find fine, penalty, or any other such term quoted. We don't do votes on here it's not how this forum works, just come back if you receive court papers from the small claims court.4

We don't need a poll.
Nobody pays CST Law! Read a few threads.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

You ignore debt collector letters and only respond to a formal Letter Before Claim, which should arrive before you get the court claim5

Please can you state where this says it is about a fineFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"3 -
It was supposedly of a peaking fine but I never received the initial ‘fine’ just the letter from smart parking through debt recovery to pay the £170. Then I’ve received this this week0

As you didn't receive initial pcn check address on your V5C, is it correct?
As others have said ignore debt letters. Wait for Letter of/before Claim or the Claim form pack. Read NEWBIES FAQ Announcement thread situated at top of forum.

EDIT : appears you were given all this advice on the thread you opened in March
