I have bought two Hyperjar instant cashback vouchers for Sports Direct. One was purchased a while ago, with a value of £50. I’m not sure what balance remains on this voucher, but when I tried to use it to place an order at the Sports Direct website I got a message saying “Sorry, that Gift Card is invalid”.

Thinking that maybe I had used all of the balance on that voucher, I bought another one, with a value of £25. I entered the voucher code and PIN number for this new voucher on the Sports Direct order page, and once again I got a message telling me “Sorry, that Gift Card is invalid”.

When I contacted Hyperjar support via webchat they were completely unable to help me, and said that they needed to refer me to their “internal team”, who would reply via email. I asked for a refund for the vouchers instead, as they were clearly of no use to me, but I got no reply. I also asked how long I would expect to wait, as I was waiting to place the order (for a Black Friday sale item), but I did not get an answer. I was simply told that I had to wait for a response, and they then terminated the chat unexpectedly.

Has anyone here successfully used a Sports Direct instant cashback voucher that they bought from Hyperjar?

Also, what are my rights if I try to get a refund for them?

  • I have not bought any vouchers from HyperJar, however, I too also found the customer service inept and so closed my account and terminated my relationship with them.

No point fighting for "deals" if there are constant issues when dealing with the promoter imo.

2 days later I still haven't heard back from them, so it looks like you may have a point. Their CS rep's attitude was very poor.
