Morning! Off out in a minute to see if I can get some cat food that's on offer at farmfoods..I've spent the morning worrying about OH who has sent me photos of his foot, told him to see a doctor but where he's at is not really equipped for xrays or anything, which I suspect he really does need....He said he'd try and see one tomorrow when they've flown back to bangkok...fingers crossed...Not that I can do anything from here either....In other news, it's freezing here too, the ice I knocked off the bucket yesterday is still ice, luckily my car gets the morning sunshine so that's defrosted....Oh Gers, that's rubbish..I feel for you. And Izzy, your poor friend, fingers crossed for them too. Ruby, amazing how quickly things can be sorted when you complain a bit...hope the washing machine come quicker than that! camelot, take care out and about...would a shopping trolley help? dp1, hope she enjoys the show
Rosy, you've reminded me I need to lag the outside tap, same here re the fire too, and today by the looks of it...Coxy, condolences to your friend too, poor thing it's so hard ot lose an animal, they're not just pets, they're family..Allie, good luck meeting yourself going backwards! Take care all, it's a cold 'un, wrap up!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi7 -
Good morning
Brrr, a cold frosty one here. BDs filming went well yesterday, the production team said he was a star. He and DH had to walk up and down a few times, then the demon dogs were brought out to bark and snarl at him which he took in his stride. Other dogs dont bother him, but he doesnt trust humans.
Corned beef hash for tea tonight. I did an inventory of the freezer yesterday and found documents of corned beef in there, so its use up time.
Have a good day all, take care.10 -
Afternoon all, a late one from me today as I've changed my daily routine. We had a very heavy overnight frost and I'm still waiting for it to melt so I can pop up to the postbox. When I woke this morning it was to the sound of neighbours scraping their windscreens while I dallied in a nice warm bed - one advantage of being retired!
It's a bright and sunny day, barely any breeze, but still oh so cold.
Print job collected yesterday and the lady in the shop satisfied my curiosity as to what's happening to the ex-hairdresser shop next door. Apparently it's going to be offices for a business property management guy. Bang went my hopes of it being something "useful", like a butchers or bakery.
When I got home I whacked up the heating and thawed out with a bowl of soup and a crusty roll. After that, I finished filling in the form for the council (that's what I need to post) and put the WM on for my bag of cleaning rags. I've been looking for a pair of winter boots for a while and think I've finally found what I want, so I've ordered them. If they fit the bill, they'll be the most expensive pair I've ever had - and that's at sale price! If they don't, they'll definitely be going back.
Usual Friday admin stuff today (most of it already done) and I'm now contemplating lunch that will probably be cheese on crumpets. This afternoon I'll have a walk up to the postbox, empty the kitchen bin and mop the floor. Fish supper for tea, then feet up.
@mehefin - What a caper! As you said, even if you'd accepted the earlier appointment time you'd probably still end up waiting anyway.
@Gers - Sorry to hear the UTI is back, good job you have an emergency stash of ABs.
@Izzy - Hope you manage to contact your friend today, bad luck on her broken bones.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed your new WM arrives sooner rather than later.
@AA - I hope there's a good turn out for the weekend's craft fairs.
@-taff - I hope your OH manages to get some medical attention soon; even if you were with him you'd still be worried.
Take care all, especially if you're out and about today and wrap up warm. Healing hugs for the poorly ones too. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
