Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's brrr here, bitterly cold, the heating''s on though, so the house is warming up.
I was only out yesterday to collect dgs from school, but I might nip into Newcastle today, I want to look in J Lewis for a Christmas present for my dil.
Hope everyone is all right and that the poorlies are getting better.
Keep warm folks, take care if you're going out.14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS for the new Daily. Brr another blooming cold one, another minus 1 at 6.00.. A light covering of snow overnight which promptly froze. It looks hazardous out there, despite it looking pretty glistening away.
Nothing of excitement happening today other than the Friday Tidy, followed probably by an afternoon of sloth snuggled under the heated throw either reading, watching rubbish or napping. For some stupid reason I got a message on my phone, some time in the early hours, telling me my winter fuel payment had gone into the bank and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Grr.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. I hope all the poorly rellies are soon on the mend too. Take care all, keep warm xx

It's very cold here too - minus 1 so far, there's a light frosting on the fields. I've had a rough night with the onset of yet another fierce UTI. I've broken into my emergency stash of ABs.Yesterday I had the stove on all day, perhaps it'll be the same today. I have an appointment with the pharmacist and after that I'm staying put. The delivery which was due on Wednesday is coming today, somehow it ended up in Inverness. I phoned the company I'd bought from, they must have nudged the delivery folk as I got a 'sorry your parcel has been delayed' text.
Hugs to all, keep warm and safe. No ice-skating!12 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers sorry you had such a bad night hope the antibiotics kick in soon .we have had no more snow but it’s freezing and it’s slippery I’m off out to my volunteering soon it will be warm in the charity shop this afternoon but I’m not looking forward to unloading the van for the food waste this morning iwill be well wrapped up . I have tried ringing my friend this morning I got a phone call last night she has fallen down the stairs and broken her collar bone and her foot in two places she is getting operated on today she rang me from hospital i will try again later today see how she is doing I don’t know how she is going to manage when she gets home because she won’t be able to use crutches and her hubby has poor mobility she was upset because she has so much to do saying I haven’t wrapped a present yet so she got wrong off me she’s got plenty of family and friends to help her but she’s always flying around in a tizz . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Very cold here too with a sharp frost, yesterday did not get in + figures all day 🥶 I went out yesterday and put loads of food out for the birds and defrosted the bird baths, this morning there must have been 25 birds on the table and flying round waiting for their turn on the table, there was a pigeon standing in the bird bath with a look of disgust on its face as it has obviously frozen over again, I will go and defrost it and top up the food once I am dressed. Please put some seed out for the birds if you can they will be desperate in this cold weather.
Scarlett I read your post that you would be picking the dogs up from school 😂 I must need more tea.
Thanks for all the Birthday wishes for mum she was 88 yesterday and had a lovely day.
Dinner tonight will be a treat of some scallops we love them but don’t have them often due to the cost, I have some samphire to have with them and I will roast some new potatoes in garlic.
The men are coming this morning from the insurance company to start the drying out process, I’m hoping having the heating on now will have helped too. I phoned the wm company yesterday and told them we were nearly at three weeks without a wm, luckily I got hold of a very efficient lady who told me they were still waiting for the engineers report but she told me she would call me back, she phoned back within 10 minutes to say she now had the report and we should get a message before Tuesday to confirm delivery of the new one and to take the old one away. I cannot wait to be able to do washing again!Izzy I hope your friend is ok xx
Gers 🤞 the antibiotics kick in soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -

It's freezing here this morning, white frost and minus figures. I don't think the bedding will be going out today, it can stay inside. Yesterday's bedding was almost dry when I brought it in, just needed airing by the fire for a while.
Sorry you've had a bad night Gers, hope the ABs work their magic.
Pleased you've heard about your new WM Ruby, it seems to have been ages since you had the flood.
Your poor friend Izzy, hope she recovers soon.
Beds have been re-made and I'm about to go in the shower. I'll go for a walk for some supplies this morning and then cosy in by the fire to read a book that I started last night and has me gripped already.
Hope you all stay warm and safe. Take care. XX9 -
Morning everyone
Very cold and frosty here but no snow. there was the tiniest covering yesterday but very heavy rain soon watched it away.
Little one was back at school yesterday just for the morning. She is off her feeding pump other than overnight and back to eating small amounts. She rang last night so I could help with her Christmas card list...only 34 children in the whole school! I was telling her that most children are in a class with almost that number...she didn't fancy that but did point out they'd have more friends!
She is very excited to go and see Disney on Ice at Newcastle tonight and was showing me her new Elsa costume she's going to wear. DD thought they were going to miss it...little one will nap on the way there as it starts at 6.30 and she's usually tucked up in bed by then.
Gers...sorry to hear your suffering again hopefully your antibiotics will work quickly
Izzy - that's awful for your friend
Ruby - pleased to hear your mam enjoyed her birthday. I'd love to put food out for the birds but unfortunately my cats would eat the birds!
Must dash as I have a review with the asthma nurse this morning. Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all, thanks Gers. It's -1 atm, the outside dog bowl is frozen solid and Dh is saying we need to bring the posh newish hose pipe thingy inside, oh and the pressure washer too! There is nowhere for them to go, no garage here
Our woodburner was on all day. Kept downstairs warm anyway but the logs are going down quickly.I went to morries to get more wrapping paper for DGS birthday- DS2 has kindly given me the task! Its mainly clothes as he is growing out of things fast. I bought a few things to stash in the freezer too.Lovely throw taff, bet it's lovely and warm.Tea tonight is gammon shanks.Hope you get your new washer soon RRuby!Stay warm & take care everyone.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all and thanks for the start @Gets. Sorry you are poorly again. I do hope the ABs kick in soon 🤞🏻
Just off the phone from a friend whose dog died last night. He was asking advice re: cremation. Not a happy start to the day ☹️
Sorry to hear about your pal @IzzyBee that sounds very painful x
Glad DGD is back at school @dp1 x
Good reminder about the birds @RedRuby1231 I’ll top our feeders up this morning.More painting for me today - just some shelves and a wooden kitchen stool that needs a freshen up. Should only take about an hour, which is good given I’ll be in the garage 🥶 I’ve taken down our bedroom curtains for a much-needed wash. Then it’s housework for the remainder of the day. Dinner is grilled salmon.Have a good day all

Another one in the minus figures though it is lovely and bright.
Yesterday's morning dog walk was lovely followed by an hour clearing up in the garden (and rescuing the last potatoes, fortunately only the top half inch of soil was solid!). Different story in the afternoon by which time it was windier and the sun had gone - it was freezing!
Today I need to go to the post office and do some prep for the weekend as I have two craft fairs. Tomorrow's is an afternoon/evening and I won't be home until probably 1030pm and then Sunday's set up is at 9am - it seemed like a good idea when I booked them! So some lunches and meals and things to get ready. At least I'll have time in the morning as it doesn't start til mid-afternoon. It's at a local attraction and they decorate really nicely and have choirs etc so should be lovely.
Hope all the poorlies are ok - take care and stay safe in the cold/icy conditions.
