i have been thinking about converting my flat kitchen roof into a mini garden what fruit and veg do people think would fall in to the low mantainance catagory as shimmying up the ladder on a daily basis to water them would not be possable.

Two things, firstly be careful not to damage the roof as they can be expensive to replace, secondly you could use an extender pole with a hose and sprinkler to water what you put up there, that would save a lot of climbing.
