Good morning, thanks Gers.
There's more snow this morning, and it's so cold!
Thank you all for the good wishes yesterday everyone, you're all very kind.
I went to the supermarket yesterday for a small top up shop, don't need to go out today except to collect Dgs from school. He'll be delighted to see the snow this morning.
I made 2 Christmas puddings yesterday and have everything in for the Christmas cake. I usually have it made by now, I'm a bit late this year.
Nothing else going on today, there's always the usual jobs of course.
Thinking of the poorly people today, and hope everyone else has as good a day as they can. Stay warm and safe, be careful if you're going out in the snow.

Morning all
Very cold here this morning, I am grateful for the heating and a nice warm house, yesterday when I was at Matt’s house it snowed 😃 it came down really heavily for about an hour, we took the dog out for a walk in it, it was so lovely we rarely get snow this far south and never this early in the year. My pond in the garden is completely frozen 🥶
Im off to his house again today and I think we are going to see his friends horses and take one of them for a walk along the lane, Matt usually rides the big horse but it is lame atm so can’t be ridden. I suspect he will want to watch a film in the afternoon too.
Its mum’s Birthday today so I will pop and see her after work, I have got her a collection of spring bulbs for her garden, we are also going out for afternoon tea on Saturday which is a surprise for her, my cousin is also coming down from Kent as a surprise, mum will be thrilled.
Dinner tonight will be bacon egg and chips, nice and quick after work.
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning allCan't see any frost out there but there's a clear sky so it's bitterly cold. No plans for today except some dusting and floor mopping downstairs.Feel like hibernating until this cold snap is all overHave a good day all and, as always, {{hugs}} for the poorlies xx11

Hi all
Apologies for being awol this week - busy with college work and just ‘stuff’. Have a couple of clear days now before the weekend full of craft fairs.Yesterday’s wind made it very cold - today looks frostier but sunny and still. I do actually really like this weather - anything is better than damp. There are a few remaining potatoes to dig up which should have been done before now, might try and get those before the ground gets too cold.
Hope everyone has a good day and the poorlies feel better soon, along with relatives and friends of posters.

Morning again. It's also very cold here, still low + figure but so chilly. My iPad gave me a message about charging being on hold until it comes up to a normal temperature, too cold to charge!
My job yesterday was to bring in three loads of logs, just those big blue bags from the Swedish place, they are the right size for the pieces. The chap up the hill cuts them the correct size for my stove so they are longer than 'normal', and heavier too.The gritter drove round here in the afternoon - think it was Sled Zeppelin which greatly pleased me although it may well have been a local council one too. There's a national tracker site for Scotland, it's good to see the activity. The day wasn't as cold as predicted although that's relevant, and today is not as baltic either. Of course, it's much colder and much worse further north and even more inland.I sent some money across to my nephew in Brisbane so that he can take his four children camping for Christmas. A load of children and parents (mostly Dads) take them away every year to a forest place with a shallow river and climbing. They become even more feral whilst having a whale of a time. Wish that I'd had that sort of thing when I was a child, that kind of fun didn't feature much then. The farmer and stocksman are busy buzzing backward and forward on quad bikes taking feed to the animals. The cows line up at the gate to the field, waiting patiently for their breakfast. The sheep have a bright coloured bum, this indicates that a ram has been around. The season moves on.No, the soup didn't get made yesterday as I realised that I'd eaten the leeks so I'll get out today to buy more. I'm going to use tinned lentils for a change but won't make a habit of it.Take care everyone, wrap up (electric throw here) and be extra careful when out. I hope that all the patients are mending well, no more hospitals. Hugs to all.13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Brr this morning is one of those mornings for going round the Mulberry Bush. -1 and a thick frost when I got up but, thankfully, no snow.
I had a very enjoyable day out yesterday with bus buddy. There was a nippy wind blowing but it was dry and odd bits of sunshine. Sadly no stocking fillers to tempt me so, other than lunch and our bottle, not much other spending done. A few odd bits from Savers and, despite my cull last week, the scarf hoarding has resumed again! That's 2 this week now! Lunch was enjoyed and much talking done. Her DH with the Alzheimer's sounds to be getting progressively worse and she is finding life stressful at times. It's so sad.
Today, unless I hear differently, there is more gallivanting to be done. Lunch with DF but, as usual, I await imminent confirmation of that. It's all dependent on DH's frame of mind when he gets out of bed. If it's off I'll do my usual pre Friday Tidy of the kitchen and bathroom. I know what I would rather be doing!
Have a good day folks if you can. Wrap up warm and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -

Morning All
Still cold and frosty here but looks to be a dry day. The washing almost dried yesterday outside with the sunshine, I've stripped the spare bed and hope to get it out today for a while. DD only slept in the bed for one night but DS2 is coming at the weekend so a freshen up is needed.
DS2 is working in Aberdeen today and tomorrow and has changed his flights to leave from Glasgow airport on Sunday so he'll get the train down on Saturday, it will be lovely to see him and let him see that I'm still alive!
I've been invited out for a coffee this morning with someone to pick me up but not sure if I'll go or not, I'm not really eating much but the company would be nice - what to do!
Glad your test results were clear Mehefin, sounds like a workout with the hay and feed.
Happy Birthday to your DM Ruby, her present sounds right up my street.
Hope the little one continues to improve dp1.
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Good morning
A frosty start here but the promise of sunshine. My car passed its MOT yesterday, an advisory but not bad for a twelve year old girl. I dropped it off and got BDs meds and did some shopping while it was in the garage. We were back home in a couple of hours.
Today DH and BD are doing some filming for Dogs Behaving Badly. Not BD but someone in the village who has naughty dogs. They just have to walk past and let the dogs bark at them. Hopefully they wont end up on the cutting room floor!
Beef stew and dumplings for tea, comfort food.
Happy birthday to Ruby's mum.
Scarlet, hope you're feeling better.
Have a good day all, take care.10 -
Morning , brr it's a nippy one today. The outside dog bowl is frozen solid. I shall brave the early walk shortly.Glad your tests were ok Mehefin.Go and have some company Camelot
& hope your lunch goes ahead TA.I enjoyed the chat yesterday about the books when we were growing up, my best friend and I used to go through them very quickly, and make a trip to the local library to see if any more had come in that we hadn't read. My dear Grandpa used to run me to the town library too, we were voracious readers - still am now but on my kindle usually. When we moved here I offloaded lots of my books to CS, and some cookbooks to my friend, although still have a shelful of those. Some in the loft too, there since we moved 10 years ago!The meatballs in tomato sauce were a big success yesterday, although DS1 was disappointed to hear there was n't any marks focaccia. I had a look on their website but it's not there, must have been a special. I did a makeshift version with the end of a hm loaf toasted in the AF with garlic, butter and olives
He ate it all.Sausages tonight, nice and easy.Better wrap up now for the walk -take care.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8
