Previous bank switch checks...

Hello all, I am considering switching banks again as there are some good deals. However, they all state you cannot have switched to them before on one of these deals. How can I check if I have previously had an account with (in this case, Barclays) a bank and switched using this cash bonus system?

Check your credit file online.

I look it up on the "Closed Bank Accounts" tab of my Accounts spreadsheet, but failing that - 

1) if you keep your emails then search them for the bank name you are interested in

2) check your credit reports, they keep details of current accounts for several years after they are closed

If your own records (emails, letters, etc) or credit files don't help, then you can also consider submitting a DSAR to Barclays to request your data. Make sure to specifically request any information related to account opening and closure, and the payment dates of any switch incentives which you've previously been paid.
