Cooling off period on pet insurance renewal...

Hi all,
Got the pet insurance renewal for my dog today, the price increase is absolutely obscene, so I intend to look elsewhere.
Our post deliveries are diabolical, we get two weeks worth of post every other week (usually on Saturday afternoons when it's too late to sort anything!) and this letter is dated almost three weeks ago...so they've given a months notice of the increase and I don't have long to shop around/get recommendations, especially as I'm barely home at the minute due to health issues in the family.
I pay via direct debt so it will instantly renew soon, if I don't cancel first.
My question is, does the 14 day cooling off period apply in this instance?
Even if they've given a months advance warning of the increase, could I still cancel 14 days after that?
Just wanting to check exactly how much time I've got to sort this out.
Any insight would be a big help. Thanks.

Its unusual to get the renewal by post. Its usually email which obviously is instant and gives you more time. Have you tried ringing them to see what they say?0

And no, on renewals you don't normally get a 14 day cooling off period.0

You don’t need to cool off after you’ve already had at least one year of cover, so if you don’t want to renew tell them now0
