Is having to pay for dips a consumer rights issue, or is the issue being charged for McDonalds food?0

I think some meals include a dip, or that was what I thought. Anyway, I've been through the drive-through several times since July and paid for my meal, and at the last window I've been offered dips with no extra cost. Perhaps it depends on which McDonalds you visit?I can understand why they do it though. My local kebab shop used to ask if you wanted mayo etc, and my friend was so greedy she used to squeeze 1/4 of the bottle onto her chips. After a while they started to charge for individual sachets0

Head office owned restaurants are at the mercy of their area manager - they decide if their branches will charge or not.ButterCheese said:I think some meals include a dip, or that was what I thought. Franchised restaurants have the power to charge if they wish; it's up to the franchisee. McDonald's head office don't decide in either business model.

Which, to be honest, I think is rather unfair of the site controllers.
I understand the OP may have been disappointed that the nature of the discussion was not supportive of their expectation to have 7 free sauce sachets / pots with each portion of chicken McNuggets so that there was a ready supply of sauce for the OP's breakfast, but there were proper considered answers in response to that.
If the OP complained, the appropriate measure might well have been to close the thread. Simply allowing the thread to be deleted is, IMO, disrespectful to those that took their time to respond. I do not recall any posts that were inappropriate, though some may have been added I suppose.5 -
Pretty sure the OP got upset after the thread got closed and then posted several late night rants which got them banned.Grumpy_chap said:

Is that banned from McDonalds, or banned from MSE Forum, or both?TadleyBaggie said:Pretty sure the OP got upset after the thread got closed and then posted several late night rants which got them banned.0 -
As someone mentioned in The Other Thread, some McDs (my local one included) have sauce dispensers with paper cups so you can help yourself. Both minimises waste (as no-one gets given sauce they don't want) and facilitates anyone wanting to help themself, provided they take a suitable tub along.N. Who'd have thought that someone who was upset at McDonalds for not giving them limitless free dips wouldn't handle having their thread closed very well.TadleyBaggie said:
