Morning Gers, morning allWell shopping trip didn't go well yesterday. A 35 minute journey down the motorway turned into over 2 hours as there had been an accident. Nearly had an accident in the car myself as my bladder was complaining quite alot!! Got there eventually and really wasn't in the mood and as I usually get there early and leave as it's getting busy, it was already very busy. Never mind, will try again next week maybe. The promised frost made an appearance this morning so feeling very cold here. Think I will do some baking in a warm kitchen this morning!Hugs to the poorlies and have a good day to all x12

Morning @Gers thanks for starting the thread today x
Yes frost here too @Chrisca50, annoying about the traffic yesterday. Just typical of BW I’m afraid 😟
We have a slow puncture so need to sort that this morning plus I have some errands to run in town. DH will sort the car whilst I do the errands. We also need a new curtain cord as the squirrel chewed through one when he raided our house. Hoping Dunelm do this 🤞🏻 Dinner is pork and apple burgers in brioche buns mmmmm.Take care everyone if you’re out and about today and hugs to our poorlies x

Morning all..frosty here too but I have to get my rear in gear for a tip run this morning. The rest of the day is either DIY or pottering, it's perishing out there. OH has been island hopping with his mates, they're now on their third one, they'll have a shock when they get back, it'll be winter gear instead of shorts and swimming in warm seas..A freezer sort also looms, I discovered things I didn't know I had last night so a list also has to be made...That's about it for my day. My hands were freezing yesterday morning in the house so I lit the first proper fire yesterday, an all dayer, not just one for a couple of hours. And I ordered logs, coming on Thursday...camelot, good to see you recovering apace. Dp1, sorry your little one is ill again, poor thing, it's one thing after another. Gers, glad you enjoyed Alice Roberts, I'll stick her on the list of people to see. I'm currently tempted by a Hans Zimmer night. Izzy, hope Edinburgh was fun! I went once and we went to the gin place, it was lovely, we did tasters too so it was probably nicer as a result of that too....Remmie, I have to do the same but mine is milk where the little girl shajes her paw. We always say she's going for a paddle when she decides ot drink milk. Ruby, well done keeping track of the dinners! Coxy, how was your first day?
Hugs n stuff for anyone who wants, take care, definitely wrap up today....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Morning two - still perishing with the threat of snow around. Doubt it'll hit exactly where I am but maybe in the nearby places.I really enjoyed the exercise class yesterday, especially as I was so poorly last Monday and abandoned it. To make up for it I worked extra hard.
After it I did a shopping trip up north as the weather forecast is so bad for the next few days. Then I slumped! As for today, I'm back to being open to it - we'll see. I hope that everyone is doing well, getting better, sorting life and keeping warm. Hugs to all.12 -
Morning All
Very cold this morning but not frosty. I heard rain overnight so it's damp too. Apparently it's going to get worse this week so I'll have a walk down to the shops this morning for some supplies. Must remember not to buy very much as I'm not allowed to carry anything heavy for a while which includes the full coal bucket - good job I have some very helpful friends and neighbours!
Glad you enjoyed your class Gers.
Shame about the traffic Chrisca, so annoying when you're all organised for an early trip.
Good luck with the freezer diving taff.
How was your first day Coxy?
A friend visited yesterday afternoon which was lovely, we had a good chat and quite a few laughs. Another pal visiting this afternoon - I've had to buy some goodies for all these visitors to have with their tea!
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning all
Well we have a sharp frost here this morning 🥶 I have put the heating on to warm the house through, I must get OH to sort out the timer on it so that it comes on at 6 when people get up, we have not done bad lasting till now with just the fire in the evenings.
Two people coming today and we are going to have a short walk and then visit a garden centre who put on a wonderful Christmas display and have a cuppa should be a nice day.
Dinner tonight is yet to be decided I will go and look in the freezer after this, I need to do an online shop tonight too.
FIL is still in hospital he may be coming home today, OH had a text from his sister saying she was worried about his mum, I told him to tell her is she is that worried to come down and stay with her, he didn’t of course 🙄 he just wants to keep the peace.
Hope all the poorly ones are feeling better xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. No frost here this morning, it sounds as though we have sent it further south. Sorry about that! A few spits and spots hit the kitchen window earlier but they didn't last long. Tomorrow's forecast sounds dire but trying not to think about it.
No lunch with DF today. We have postponed it until Thursday. It's not her DH giving her grief this time, the little dog has an appointment! So I am free to do jobs. Can I cope with the excitement!
RUBY so sorry your FIL is still in hospital and MIL not well either. It's the same old story that the care always seems to fall on one family member. I hope SIL starts sharing the burden soon.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning ,thanks Gers, well done on the exercising!Well after a beautiful but cold day yesterday we are back to dull and rainy. I was going to go to another town on the bus if it was fine but not now, may just go to the retail park - I still need some bits for DGS birthday next week, and for both DGC for Xmas. Might leave it until the torrential rain eases a bit hopefully,& Ldogs walk. He seemed to have strained his leg a bit so only had short walks yesterdayWe had salmon from the freezer last night, but my meat supplies are running a bit low now with big gaps in the freezers - still I could always buy one of the beef wellingtons that marks are advertising for £ 195
!!Hope your 1st day went well Coxy.Nothing else interesting so I'll wish you all a good day

Morning everyone
It rained all night here and still raining this morning, I'll find out how cold it is soon as I'll have to put the bin out.
Little one is still no better, she was very sore and achy yesterday and felt really sick, so DD spoke to a GP who prescribed stronger anti sickness tablets, hoping they'll start to help. She can't be sick, after the operation she had on her stomach when she was one, which I imagine makes the needing to be sick feeling worse.
After work yesterday I went over to my friends house for a cuppa and a chat which was nice.
Ruby - I hope your father in law gets home today...I know exactly what you mean...neither of my two brothers help at all with my mam and dad and one lives just two minutes walk away! The other lives about an hour away and visits maybes three times a year...treated like a royal visit...but does occasionally text to tell me dad should be put in a home! The other occasionally tells me they both should be! Sorry, got that off my chest...
Right I need to get some jobs done before it's time to go to work. I have a charity shop collection tomorrow so I need to go through the rest of my clothes.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Thanks @Gers for today's start and a very chilly good morning all. No frost here but it does look a bit damp out and it's not going to be the dry day we were promised - light rain possible at any time. The highest daytime temperature we can expect is 3 deg, dropping to below freezing overnight with the arrival of sleet in the early hours. Definitely an early taste of winter.
Yesterday's excursion didn't go quite as planned; all OK at the PO but not at the print shop. I have some documents I need printing off and had put them on a USB stick that I took with me but they only accept print requests via email - apparently they've had problems in the past with USBs. I'll send them today and will just have to make another trip to collect them when they're ready. The organisation they're for wants paper copies - seems ironic in this day and age when practically everything is electronic.
Since tomorrow is going to be colder still, I'll do my other errands today as planned and just hope I can dodge any rain. Hat, scarf and gloves will be worn! I have some streaky bacon left over from making the pigs in blankets so will use that in spaghetti carbonara for my tea tonight. After that I'll cosy up under my throw on the sofa and give C5's new crime drama Cooper & Fry a viewing.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed your FiL can come home today; such a shame your SiL can't (or won't) help out a bit more. Not having any siblings, I was a sole carer for my late DF so know just how hard and stressful it can be.
@Rosy - £195?
Where do they get these prices from?
@dp1 - So sorry LO isn't any better, a worrying time for all.
Right, I'm off on my travels before the rain arrives. Take care all, try to have the best day you can, hugs where needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
