Leather seats & car seat covers

I hate leather seats! But needed a car & the car I got seemed OK at the time so didn't turn it down just based on the seat material.

Was considering getting some cloth seat covers. Nothing to do with keeping the seats colder in summer, hotter in winter or anything like that. I just don't like the FEEL of the leather seat so thought a cloth seat cover (rather than that waterproof overtrousers type material) may help it feel less leathery.

Or I may still be slip sliding around on the seat & the covers may constantly ride up/off or whatever & I'll totally regret wasting my money.

Any of you reading this applied seat covers to leather seats & can comment or am I asking a load of leather-lovers & I'm going to be crucified for what I'm daring to do?

I put seat covers over the leather seats in my Freelander - to protect them rather than because of the feel.
They slid around and were a real bother- I removed them at every opportunity.

Try aftermarket seats - such as https://www.cobraseatsshop.co.uk/
It may look expensive (£250+ per seat+ subframe) but the seats are going to last years and could transfer to your next car etc......
Alternatively - source cloth seats from a lesser model ("GL" rather than "Ghia") and fit those.....

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Hey! Don’t worry, you won’t get crucified. Plenty of people prefer cloth over leather. Seat covers can definitely make leather feel more like fabric, but yeah, some cheaper ones can slip around. If you go for good-quality fitted covers designed for your car, they usually stay put and feel a lot better. Definitely worth trying if it makes driving more comfortable for you! 👍

What make/model of car? Its probably not actually leather, but some kind of synthetic plastic. Decent, real, leather seats are lovely.

Probably isn't actual leather but whatever it is I don't like it. I've sat on 'leather' seats in numerous cars and various 'leather' sofas.

    Hate the lot of them.
