Thanks @AA for starting us off - it's a late Good Morning from me as I've had a lie in.
It looks as if we're being treated to a short break from the rain today and tomorrow but it's definitely getting colder, especially at night. I've got brushed cotton sheets and the winter duvet on the bed, am wearing long sleeved PJs and making full use of the warm slipper boots I bought recently. And I've extended the times the heating is on.
I may have had a lie in but I haven't been totally idle; my dinner is prepared (beef slices in gravy, baby potatoes and veg) and the SC is on with a chunky veg soup for weekday lunches. @dp1 - Yes, you can do dumplings in the SC. I'm another one that doesn't use the big oven much unless I can fill it - the SC, AF and MW are perfect for me - and the upside is the oven doesn't need cleaning as often!
Yesterday DS collected me for a Lidl shopping excursion where I bought a few bits and bobs that I needed but resisted anything for the freezer - I'm now beginning to see space in there and I want that for Xmas stuff. DS called in at the pharmacy on his way here to collect my tablets for me so that's sorted for another three months. @TA - I used to fill dosset boxes for my DH and DF so I know where you're coming from.
Luckily, I only have to take one in the morning and one in the evening - the usual ones for high blood pressure and cholesterol that I think most people over the age of 40 seem to take these days.
@Coxy - Good luck with the new admin role tomorrow.
@Izzy - Have a lovely day out in Edinburgh.
@Ruby - I was going to say I wash my kitchen floor tiles with sugar soap to cut through the grease but if your DM has been using a cleaner with linseed oil in it I'm not surprised it was so slippery! Good job you spotted it.
@WL - Forgot to say yesterday, congratulations on the news of a new grandchild.
Right, I've just the bed to re-make and a pile of clean laundry to put away and then I'm downing tools for the rest of the day. I hope the poorly ones make swift recoveries and wish everyone a peaceful and stress-free rest of the weekend. Take care, stay safe. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
