Is everyone having. Sunday lie-in?
Nice to see a glimpse of blue sky here after two wet and grey days.Think DM wants to do a bit of Christmas shopping - will see if she feels well enough.Other than that I need to do some chores as I have been having way too much fun making crafting messes! And tonight’s meal is the last of this year’s ’choose a country and make a dish’ - Ghana 🇬🇭. Making Jollof rice with some spicy chicken skewers.Have a good day all. Best wishes to the poorlies and their families.AA10 -
Morning folks and thanks ALLIE. Snippets of blue sky here too, but we are to pay for the better weather in the coming days with the temps plummeting to zero at night. That'll be a shock to the system! The snuggly fleece jimjams came out yesterday in readiness.
A rare occasion here this morning - the oven is going on! It goes on to cook pizzas for the DGDs occasionally but I tend to use the air fryer or slow cooker just for me. I am doing a batch of jacket spuds to freeze, with one left out for my lunch with tuna mayo and salad. I'll have a think what else can go in to utilise the oven space whilst it's on.
DS had an offer, courtesy of his bank, for 8% off a Sainsbury's shop yesterday so that's where we went for a change. Needless to say I got rather carried away! All change since I was last in there so I had bother finding some of the stuff on my list, and rather a lot of stuff that wasn't on my list managed to jump in my trolly too.
I think today will be the usual Sunday of Sloth but before I descend into Slothdom I need to do a refill of my dosset boxes. I hate that job as it leaves me seeing double by the time I have finished.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. DP1 I hope we get better news from you today. CAMELOT take it easy. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all from dull but dry Mehefinland
Brilliant day yesterday singing the Vivaldi - lots of people came along just to sing. And there was cake!!! Shattered now though, and couldn't sleep last night as head was buzzing and going over it all.
The horses were naughty for my friend yesterday and she ended up chasing them around the field about three times before they decided to go in!! At least they all got a bit of exercise lol.
Really need to cut the grass one last time this year if it has dried up enough. It is quite long and as the last collection of green waste is Tuesday I'm just hoping it dries out enough to mow it. Our forecast the next few days is reasonable so I may get chance.
That's all for now - hope the poodles are in recovery mode, hugs and spoons as always

Morning all and thanks for the start @AlwaysAllie. Craft mess sounds good! I like the sound of the Ghanaian recipe - let us know how it goes x
I am food shopping with Mum early doors then it’s back for a final coat of paint on two of the lounge walls. Seems the darker putty shade needs another coat. All curtains washed and three dried and ironed - such bulk - was thinking of @IzzyBee and her old job as I heaved them around the kitchen!New admin role starts tomorrow so I need to fire up DSis’s old laptop and make sure I can do what I need to on it.Dinner is roast chicken with roast potatoes and roasted veg so my oven will be doing overtime too @TravellingAbuela!Have a good day all

Morning everyone well it’s stopped raining but it’s cold the beef is nearly cooked I got a pork joint on offer yesterday and it was cut in half and frozen it was a bit cheaper than the beef I know there is only two of us and I get a small joint for sundays and we usually get a sandwich for lunch on a Monday and I make a bit dinner on a Monday night so we get three meals out of it but it’s just going up and up in price when I spoke to the butcher yesterday he said it’s a ridiculous price but there’s more price rises to come but I’m afraid we are boring and old fashioned in here and hubby likes his Sunday lunch and I think if you don’t have that you have to think of something else. I’m excited I’m getting the train to Edinburgh in the morning a girl from the charity shop has got us a good deal on tickets and her hubby is running us to the train station and picking us up it’s years since I’ve been and I’m really looking forward to going we don’t want anything and we are only there four hours but it’s a lovely train journey up from Durham and it will be nice to have a wander round call in somewhere for a coffee and I’m sure we will have burnt enough calories for a cake even if it’s only through talking and it will be nice to see the Christmas markets . DP1 I hope the little one is improving and if I see Santa tomorrow I will tell him to give her a wave . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning everyone
It looks like the sun might come out here again today, it was lovely yesterday and my washing was almost dry when I brought it in. I should have done some garden tidying but I was far too 'busy' reading. I'll do it after lunch today. I'm going down to mam and dads this morning and then I'll go for some shopping for DD as they can't go out...I'll take it down when I go to work tomorrow.
Thank you all so much for the good wishes for little one, her throat was still very sore yesterday and she was struggling to eat even soup, she's on her feeding pump so at least that keeps her sugars up. I haven't had an update yet this morning, I'll message DD soon. The doctor had said she's contagious until she feels better, so I expect she'll be off school all week.
Izzy enjoy your visit to Edinburgh tomorrow, it's a lovely city...give Berwick a wave as you go past.
I'm going to put a chicken casserole in the slow cooker...does anyone know if I can do dumplings in there too?
I have a right fancy for them.
Hope everyone has a good day x8 -
Morning all
Raining here and meant to last all day, I can’t do any washing to hang out anyway 😂
Got a call from mum yesterday saying her kitchen floor was so slippery that she couldn’t walk on it, I went up and it was like an ice rink, I mopped it four times the last one with vinegar and it was a bit better, she has decided that she wants carpet tiles put down as she is just too scared to walk on it so we have a man coming Thursday to give her a quote, I looked at the floor cleaner she has been using and it’s for stone / tiled floors and contains linseed oil so no wonder it was slippery, I have taken it away and got her some new stuff.
FIL is still in hospital but is in good spirits, hopefully he will come out tomorrow.
Dinner today will be a roast, I got a bit of lamb on offer but I said I would make a dinner for MIL and for mum so I didn’t think there would be enough meat so mum gave me a bit of pork that was in her freezer so I will cook both and there should be enough for tomorrow too.
DP1 I hope little one starts to feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -

Bright and sunny this morning but cold and frosty too. I've a small wash load to go out in a minute, if it doesn't dry at least it will smell nice and fresh.
Pleased to hear the little one is home dp1, hope she makes a speedy recovery.
How selfish of your OH's sister Ruby, hope your FIL is comfortable.
Enjoy your day out tomorrow Izzy, I bet you'll have a great time.
Happy painting Coxy and hope your new job goes well.
I'm the same TA, the 'big' oven is hardly ever switched on and when it is I have to fill it!
Missing you Scarlet.
DS1 and family are coming to visit this morning, bringing lunch too. It will be lovely to see them, their little one is just over a year and walking around the furniture so need to tidy a few things away!
Hope you are all well and have a peaceful Sunday. Take care XX3 -
Morning all - it's such a bright clear day outside though it's freezing! I've been busy doing upstairs jobs since early on. All is shipshape now, no more loitering washing etc.The bus ride home yesterday was so glorious. Bright blue skies and no wind. The bus was very busy with a load of youngsters all heading for various outdoorsy activities. Some got off at Duck Bay, some at Luss with the majority getting off at Arrochar. The traffic was light too so it was mostly open road for us apart from after the lights on the Rest but then it all thinned out again. I really enjoyed the journey. Last theatre trip for me until February, I'm not keen on panto or musicals or even music tribute acts so I'm now hunkering down for the winter. This morning I'm going to a 'homestyle fair' locally. The chap up the hill's wife and her friend do lots of crafty things and then hold an event each Christmas. I'm not sure I'll buy anything though could easily be tempted, I don't need or even want anything so will probably end up getting things for others. On the way back I'll take the black bag to the tip!
How lovely to hear better news about @DP1's little one and @Ruby's DFather, mind you the bit about cleaning the floor with linseed stuff had me giving a wee shudder. Congratulations to @WL and family, a new baby on the way is such good news. Enjoy your trip tomorrow @Izzy. Good luck with the new job @Coxy, hope that you have a better time with this one.Hugs to all.4 -
