Seeing vans for 500 but 50cc scooters start a 1000?

Because a £500 van will cost £1000's to run and insure a £1000 scooter will cost £100's to run and insure.3

There’s a captive market for 50cc scooters - at 16, it’s pay it or walk/public transport/beg for lifts.1

A van at £500 is absolutely scrap.I see a lot of scooters below £1000 too, Autotrader as low as £650 but I suspect that it's not worth the fees selling one for less than that. You can even buy (crap) new ones for £1000ish, but you'd probably be better off with a e-bicycle for most uses unless you need to go above 15mph.
But they are completely different things for different purposes.1 -
