Unfortunately you can't cancel your order once it has been placed.

So it looks like let it arrive and return it under the consumer contracts regs as stated by esbanker above.

    Here's the returns policy

Thank you. My worry is that it is not going to arrive and other people have recently had cancelled orders by The Works or have had to ask for a refund as after a month no order.
I suspect you'll have to wait 10 working days before you can start asking for a cancellation if not already dispatched.

We aim to deliver orders shipped to a UK delivery address placed using our Standard Delivery or ParcelShop service within 10 working days and within 10 working days on Standard Delivery orders shipped to a Republic of Ireland address. Please note that weekends and Bank Holidays are not classed as working days. We do not deliver on Sundays or Bank Holidays and our lead times are not guaranteed.

Thank you again. I did read this but was wondering if a cancellation is possible before the 10 days is up. As I said reviews on trustpilot are very negative at the moment and customers are not getting orders well after the 10 days

Either way works though.  You either receive and then immediately return the order for a refund.   Or you don't receive the order and ask for a refund.   Both outcomes result in a refund.

With Christmas not too far away...
Just to put that in perspective, we're only five days into the 41 day period between your order and Christmas!  Not that this affects your statutory rights though....

Yes I understand that. Getting a refund would then enable me to go and buy the goods that I want from elsewhere or even in store. I have a chronic illness and I don't cope very well with going in bright lit places that are busy hence buying online. For me to go to a town I have to feel OK to get there so that reduces down the 41 days. Thanks for your advice though I appreciate it

One consequence of the Christmas shopping season starting in late October is that you have a few more quieter days available.

Take care and best of luck.

T&Cs say acceptance is formed on dispatch so the above is incorrect (or indeed can't be imposed).

OP if you notify them you are cancelling the order they should refund you without dispatching the order, whether they will or not is another thing but that's what you are entitled to.
