Blue Badge £170 Parking Charge Out Of The Blue

On Tuesday 11th Nov a letter was posted through my door just before 4pm by someone, it wasn't Royal Mail as they had delivered on our street earlier that day.
The letter was a demand for £170  Parking charge for Morrisons car park 7th June. This is the first I have known about it as we have honestly not received any other correspondence about parking charge, we rang Debt Recovery Ltd straight away and explained this and they just said we were 12 mins over time, and so can either pay the £170 or wait for the court letter.
I then emailed the original sender which was in the letter as being Euro Car Parks Ltd asking for all previous correspondence as we had not had any other letter about a parking charge, and my wife is a Blue Badge holder. I have received their reply and they are not willing to send us any correspondence.
My wife has been to citizens advice about this and has been given some letter templates to send to all parties.
I am a pensioner and my wife is in her 60s and has difficulty walking, and we use the Blue Badge to park everytime, if we had a parking charge letter in the first instance, we would have dealt with it straight away, but due to not receiving the original correspondence they say we are out of time and cannot appeal, its either pay up or go to court.
This is very stressful so if anyone can give us some help or advice it would be very appreciated.

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters

    ECP are the claimant

Complain about it to the Morrissons head office staff and get it cancelled based on reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act 2010 , insist on a cancellation

Make sure that your V5c log book is correct,  especially the name and address,  check, don't assume

Ensure that you email the DPO at ECP confirming the correct address for the service of papers

You missed the postal PCN in June because the car is still registered to your old address we assume?

You don't RING the likes of DR Plus!

    Ignore.

    Then: Ignore some more.

Stop taking the bait but do check the address on your V5C as it sounds like you didn't update the car's registered address with the DVLA.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The address on the log book is correct, I have emailed Royal Mail and Morrisons HO.
Sent SAR email to Euro Car Parks as well.
Is  this all I can do at the moment and thanks for your advice.

We had similar, see my thread.  https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6526245/another-overstay-with-a-blue-badge-another-win#latest
Ended up in court where we proved the signs were not as described in the witness statement.  I also had the discrimination in our statement but it wasn't needed.
Follow the newbies advice and listen to the regular helpers on here.
Do not communicate with debt collectors.   Do not communicate by phone.
Do not ignore letter before action or letter from Northampton county court.

There was no "prosecution" it's simply a county court moneyclaim, please do not use such misleading words it frightens and confuses people. ;)
