Home improvement tips and advice

I am looking to redecorate my living room, but on a budget. We currently have wooden floors and light grey sofas. But i dont want a grey living room. I would like to go for a modern, chic aesthetic with neutral tones, but still with a bit of character. Any tips or recommendations of furniture, decor, panelling, coffee tables, etc, or places you recommend to buy smart decor from. Thanks

It might be worth having a rootle around in any second-hand or charity shops you may have locally.  Very often you can get pretty good-quality, solidly-made furniture for not much money.  Then a bit of time spent with some sandpaper and paint can tart it up quite nicely.
Another great place to look, if you have one nearby, is one of the big British Heart Foundation stores, where they usually have loads of furniture.  Again, good prices, plus you're helping a worthwhile cause as well.

Earthy tones and muted greens seem to be very popular at the moment. Mango wood comes in a few shades, is sustainable and relatively inexpensive. A few snazzy cushions and decorative items can be found at The Range, B & M and TKMaxx.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

When I recently redecorated my living room I spent a while on Pinterest to see a variety of rooms with similar colours to that which I wanted. I already had a sofa and and chair and was able to use the colour of that to search for room ideas - e.g. brown sofa with green wall/blue walls/white walls etc. There are other websites where I believe you can upload a photo of your room and then change things like wall colour etc., but I haven't tried them.

We have wooden floor, plain dark green settees, plain yellow walls and brighten this up with art on the walls and a Florence rug like this.
