On the 4/9 I was parked at a Moto Sertvices and had not realised I had been there for more than the allowed 2 hours, I was 16 minutes over.
Immediately after I went on holiday to France for 5 weeks.
On my return I had a PCN for £100 reduced to 60 if paid within £14days, on continuing using to open m,y post I had a second letter from them stating IO has not paid and the fine was now £170.
I obviously went straight onto their appeals process, explaining why I had not paid and sent them copies of my tyrtavel tickets showing I was out of the country.
I immediately had response from them confirming they had received my appeal and would get back me within 28days. In the mean time do not pay the fine and if my appeal is rejected I would just have to pay the £100.
I have not received a result from the appeal, which is about due, but have now received another letter from them, stating that I still have not paid I can no longer appeal and the fine is now £170...
Help please what should I do.

It's just an invoice from a private company, no different than that from a plumber. It's certainly not a fine.

There is no appeals process. It's a sham. One trick is to ignore you and then they can claim they rejected your appeal and then they can increase it to £170 because their trade association tells them they can.

You were daft enough to appeal, so they'll be thinking you'll be daft enough to pay £170!

You don't have to pay anything. Ignore them and their debt collection letters.

Come back if you receive a "Letter Before Claim" from DCB Legal.

    You don't have a fine.

You were never going to pay it anyway, not even at £60.

Ignore them because there was no appeal. Ignore the £170 threatograms but you already know that from when you looked at the pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES FAQs thread.

There's also no point complaining to MOTO who have demonstrated that they couldn't give a 'flying fox' about their customers.
