Good morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off. Yesterday the sun hung around until lunchtime and the rain managed to hold off all day but .... overnight rain followed and it's going to be wet all day today, ranging from light rain to heavy rain as the day progresses.
Top daytime temps around 3 or 4 deg. Definitely a day for hibernating!
Friday admin to do today and I'll get the winter duvet on the bed once I've had the usual tussle of getting the cover on it - if only I were taller and had longer arms!
This afternoon I'll make up and freeze a batch of pigs in blankets and that will be the total sum of my activity for the day. Tonight's tea is a piece of basa fillet in parsley sauce with baby potatoes and some leftover mixed veg, a custard tart for afters. TV highlight of the evening is Empire with David Olusoga.
@Gers - Enjoy the AR talk tonight - whatever she talks about, she's always very enthusiastic.
@Ruby - Gentle hugs for you and your OH, such a worrying night for you both. I hope your in-laws will be OK. I remember only too well the phone calls I used to get from my late DF's carers. Sorry too that your WM is beyond repair.
@Coxy - Enjoy your dinner out tonight.
@Izzy - I'm not surprised you didn't enjoy the buffet last night - it sounds awful and potentially likely to cause food poisoning.
@AA - A day of hibernating and crafting sounds good after all hospital trips you've been doing.
@dp1 - I hope LO makes a swift recovery and that your DD can catch up on some sleep.
@TA - That young man obviously doesn't know grass shouldn't be cut in wet weather! Seemingly, neither do our council contractors.
So many on here struggling at the moment with illness or life in general, so I really hope the weekend will be kinder than the week has been. Hugs wherever needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
@Gers will you go to see Prof Brian Cox on his tour next year? He's doing arenas, as he says they can put huge screens up so the audience can see all the detail in the photos.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello all from soggyland
Just a quick one
Wet and windy but nowhere as bad as anticipated. Think the amber bit missed me by a smidge, thankfully. Still pretty dire though.
Went to a very interesting presentation on rewilding our local river with water voles - cute little blighters and nearly extinct in UK because of the voracious mink. A fascinating evening all round. ( and a cracking buffet to boot!)
Confines to the house with the weather so a good vacuuming and bathroom clean undertaken. Had a feather down body warmer to wash so brightly put it on a 'lingerie' setting - well it is delicate!. 2 hours later the machine finished and the poor garment looks no better. I won't be trying that one again
. Just let it dry out naturally and see if it's retrievable - no major loss if it doesn't as I have others.
Hope all the poodles are recovering. Hugs and spoons as always

Hi Derek years ago my youngest DD had a very expensive, though second hand, feather and down body warmer when she was a teenager - I washed it and it was as flat as a pancake! I found out that if you put it in a tumble dryer with a couple of tennis balls it fluffs back up and looks like new...very noisy though!
Well little one has had an up and down day...the nurses who went this morning went to her doctor's surgery and said she needed antibiotics which were then prescribed, she seemed a bit brighter this afternoon so DD took her to collect the prescription and their new glasses. Little one has to wear hers all the time for a month to see if they help with her headaches, DD for driving and watching TV.
Then her temperature went back up to 39.9 so DD decided they were going down the road to the big hospital...they should be there now so hopefully the wait to see a doctor won't be too long.
Thanks everyone for all the good wishes x12
