Up, dressed, washing machine whirring and first coffee made. Early morning star watching has a natural end unfortunately as the sky was magnificent. This morning I'm off back down to Glasgow (on the bus this time) to see Professor Alice Roberts tonight, she's giving a talk called 'Domination' - think it's about the rise of the Christian religion. Not my normal fare but she is so mesmerising, wonder if I will enjoy her more than I did James May?Great to read better news about the poorlies and families. Some new furniture coming in is exciting too. Hugs to all.12

Morning all
Damp here and rain due off and on all day, I have the insurance person coming between 9 - 10 this morning so I’ve had to get up early on my day off 🙄
We got a call about 8 last night from the carers that go in for MIL, she was fine but FIL had fallen, we don’t know what happened as he was very confused but he was naked and on the floor in the lounge, MIL has dementia and couldn’t call anyone, so he laid on the floor till the carers came, he was on the floor for about 4 hours 🥲, the carers phoned an ambulance and then called OH who rushed over there, FIL was still on the floor and couldn’t get up, and was shivering with cold, the ambulance came and they took him into hospital, OH has gone over to sit with his mum this morning, and will go to the hospital at 10 to find out more, it’s all a bit worrying especially for OH.
The wm man came yesterday he was in the house for all of 2 minutes, he took one look at the wm, turned the drum round once and said your bearings have gone and it’s not worth fixing, so they will send you a new machine, which is a result but also means we have no wm for a while longer, so I will have to take a load up to mums again.
Dinner tonight will be the chilli from last night, we ended up having sausage and mash as the sausages were going out of date yesterday, DD made the chilli when she was waiting for the wm man so I just need to heat it through this evening.
Gers safe trip and enjoy your evening xx
Camelot I hope you are recovering well xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Enjoy your evening out - I enjoy AR’s TV programmes so hope she is equally enjoyable live.Oh @RedRuby1231 poor FIL! I hope you get positive news from the hospital today. Sending hugs x Good news re the WM but annoying you will have to wait a bit longer.DH is back to work today. I am going to paint the lounge - not sure who got the worse deal!! I will wash the curtains on 20 degrees to freshen them up. Will need 5 separate loads so the smart meter will be doing overtime 😳 Just going for white to clean up the space before major renovations next year.
We are out for dinner tonight using a voucher we received for Christmas. Better late than never 😊
Have a good day all and hugs for our poorly folk x

Morning all, rain is going to stop play today, so a day of doing stuff I may have been putting off looms..OH and friends decided not to go to Vietname and Cambodia after the typhoons they've been having so I'm relieved about that. The cats are not happy but I expect they'll go to sleep dreaming about chasing something or eating tuna, or watching the world go by in the windows. And I might go and watch a film, or at least book it. So not a lot going on today...I spent four hours at the allotment yesterday so my ankle is a bit painful today so at least I'll rest it a bit...yesterday was such a glorious day too, sunny and quite warm, I didn't even need the heating on.Rosy, good spot on the water before it turned into a disaster! Rby, shame about the machine but at least they're replacing it, let's hope they get a wriggle on. That is quite concerning about your fil, fingers crossed for quick recovery. Coxy, hope the chiro went well for him. Allie, hope your dad found out something to help. dp1, sorry she's ill again but how funny about being a camel
Izzy, your buffet sounds lovely, hope you enjoyed! snoozer, with mine it's leaving socks in a ball after taking them off, so I put them in the washing machine as they are and dry them as they are and then he gets the message for a bit....Take care all poorlies, hey to the MIA..Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers I like Alice Robert’s I’m sure you will enjoy it. Pouring down here a lot of roads closed due to flooding I’m off out to do my volunteering soon they won’t be many there this morning the bad weather soon sends them running I will have my dog walking coat on . The meal last night was horrible some thought it was lovely and ate everything I couldn’t touch it when we went in it’s only a small place but they at metal dishes all across the bar with lids on it was 5 30 when we started eating and everyone was there but some had been there since 4 nearly everything was rice I lifted the lid on one I asked what it was and she said cabbage leaves stuffed with rice it was sat in a puddle of water and so it went on I said I can’t eat any of that it’s been sat for an hour and a half that we know of there was some onion baji and Samos and chips thick with grease not for me I’m sorry and I could eat my dog given a sharp enough knife and fork they were saying don’t be so fussy I’m not but I’ve worked with food for years and that in my opinion was dangerous I wasn’t the only one a few others couldn’t eat it when I went to the toilet there was a dirty dish on the floor with either dog or cat food in all dried up no thank you when I think of the years I worked in the fish shop he was immaculate everything was dragged out fridges emptied and floors scrubbed every night yuk . I have a parcel to drop off before I head off oh and another thing I wasn’t happy about we had all chipped in for vouchers to give the girl who was getting married I thought we would have given her them that night but someone stood up wished her a happy future and a lovely wedding day and she had already been given the vouchers earlier in the week at work. Right I will go before I give you all a headache . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Enjoy your evening. I am envious, she was appearing not too far from me last month and I dithered about booking. In the end I didn't and regretted it.
Well I will see if I can waffle on this morning and not manage to lose it. It's wet and windy here but not forecast to be as bad as the Midlands and parts of Wales. I hope you down there are safe.
If I can get myself motivated it's the Friday Tidy today. A dust and vac upstairs and down. I keep looking at the windows but I think I'll just look at them for now! Such big windows and such hard work. I need to psyche myself up a bit longer before I tackle them!
RUBY what an evening for you yesterday. I hope DH's DDad recovers well. Such a worry. I had Careline ringing me day and night when my DM had one. I dreaded my phone ringing.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. I hope the convalescing are still recovering. Our missing friends number is increasing, first NAN and now SCARLET. I hope they are ok. Take care all, stay safe xx

Hi all
Appalling weather here and set to get worse later, we’re just on the edge of an amber warning
Safe travels Gers, and enjoy the show. RR Hope there’s good news about FiL later. It was a two hospital visit yesterday - popped DM to the local one for a blood test, she’s having a blood transfusion tomorrow.DD saw the knee surgeon, X-rays all good as far as the hardware from the new knee is concerned. He thinks it’s tendinitis so physio to be arranged - sounds like it’ll be painful physio which won’t go down well so might need some ‘encouragement’. Took ages to get back as it was in the city and we hit all the work traffic. Needless to say I slept well.Today is hibernating and crafts all day 🤩

Morning everyone
I've had a worrying night...DD took little one to the doctors yesterday with her sore throat. He's said to give her Calpol and Ibroprofen and prescribed anti sickness tablets. I had a chat with her after work and she seemed fine, still excited about being a camel, then not long after she deteriorated and her temperature was 40. DD rang for an ambulance and was told it would be 3 hours, but then the paramedics rang and said she was the highest priority...they arrived less than 30 minutes later. They stayed for an hour and a half and consulted with the big hospital and they said to keep her at home, but DD had to ring if her temperature was 40 three times within 20 minutes.
Just spoke to DD and her temperature has been about 38 all night, luckily they have nurses going to do blood tests this morning so DD will see what they think...I don't think she's had any sleep though little one has.
Thank you all...it helps to write it down x
Better go as i need to make my lunch before I go down to mam and dads.
So sorry to hear about your father in law Ruby...such an awful thing to happen to him and for your mother-in -law too when she couldn't do anything to help him. I too dread the calls from the care company. I hope they're both ok this morning x
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Oh, @DP1 - what a horrible night and so scary. I hope that little one is getting better. And what a fright too @Ruby, it's always a worry when things reach this stage. Hugs to all of you.If I wasn't going away today would be perfect to hang out my washing! Bright, clear and cold. However, it will soon be hanging on the clothes horse and draped over the bannister. x5

Dp1 I hope today sees an improvement. The worry never ends does it.
No washing will be hanging out here today. The rain persists but would you believe young chap next door was out mowing his grass in it earlier!! I couldn't believe it. X"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"4
