Lost transfer from Halifax Save4It account - Anyone had same problem?

I opened a Save4It account for my child in 2009.  You could only open them for a year and then the amount was to be automatically transferred to a different type of Halifax children's saver account.  I can see the transfer coming out of the Save4It account at the year's end, but it just says "Transfer" and doesn't list where it was transferred to.  The same thing was offered in year 2 of the same account.  At the end of the year the balance was transferred, but with no details of where it went.  From year 3 onwards we paid into that account and the balance has accumulated but the money from the first 2 years seems to have disappeared.  Halifax - by phone - haven't been able to offer any information on where that money has gone.  I've seen a few closed threads on here of people who have experienced the same thing but there's no info on how these were or were not resolved.  I'm going to go into a branch but want to get a sense of whether this is a problem other people have faced.

Did you question this back when they matured?
As sometimes these jut get transferred to a new basic savings account. Trouble is after this length of time they may no longer be showing on their systems. But will maybe in paper records in secure location.

All you can really do is open a complaint & see where that goes
