With a single-rate SMETS1 meter? I've seen plenty of examples with multi-rate meters, but not with a Secure Liberty 100. 

The Liberty 100 has four registers and can be used for E7 or more complex tariffs.

Was the current meter in your property when you moved in, or was it fitted during your ownership?

Is there a card or sticker adjacent to it, showing the readings from the previous meter? Does that have one reading or two?

Yes, I've just double checked and, after pressing 6, there is another screen that comes up after a while with a reading of about 5600, so that's that solved

The meter was there when I moved in – it's a relatively new flat, so I think it's the only meter that's ever been there, but others lived in the flat before me.

Not quite! Can you please tell us what the labels were on the screen where you see meter readings? I think when you press '6' on this meter, you see a label for a couple of seconds followed by the value. Another press of '6' advances to the next label and its value, and so on. The 'normal' register is probably the one labelled IMP R01, but it would be good to see what label precedes the ~5600 value.

Thanks, but the first of those was inconclusive, and the second was a different kind of meter altogether (I hope - I've been down too many rabbit holes to be certain ...).

I may have got hold of the wrong end of the stick completely, but I can't see anywhere that the Liberty 100 was capable of recording on multiple import or export registers. The Liberty 110 is, and I had one for many years.

I've had a Liberty 100 for years - originally installed by Ovo - and it does indeed have multiple registers. Mine records imports and exports and there are a couple of others unused.

Yesterday, I posted this from the tech manual: "The following four cumulative energy registers are configured as energy channels for the measuring element:

     a) Active Total Import (i.e. fundamental + harmonics) 

     b) Active Total Export 

     c) Reactive Import 

     d) Reactive Export" 

That's why I stated - apparently wrongly - that there's only one active import register, labelled IMP R01.

I've now delved a bit deeper into the tech manual, where I find this on p. 39:



I'm afraid I have no explanation for my blinkered attitude, and I apologize to all concerned for misleading them. 

I'd still like to see what the label ('title', as the tech manual calls it) precedes the 5600 figure on @SG18's Button '6' menu.
