Morning Gers and all to follow
Dry here for now but rain due mid morning and for the rest of the day, I am off to see Matt today and this morning he is going horse riding which he loves, I am meeting them at the stables so a bit of a later start for me. He bought his mum two autumn cyclamen for her garden, she loves gardening so I think she will like them, I got her a small box of chocolates, and the card so I hope she likes them.
The WM man is coming today, dd is at home so will be here to let him in, hopefully he will be able to fix it and then we can get on top of the washing again.
Dinner tonight will be chilli and rice, either dd or I will cook. I need to pop in the shop this morning as I forgot to get butter so will do that before I meet Matt.
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off @Gers x
I’m up early as we have BG coming to fit smart meters today sometime between 8am and 12noon. Depending on when they come I will also drive DH to the Chiro. DS2 is on standby in case we have a clash. We have booked a tip run for 2pm to take the (hopefully) final sacks of leaves. Beds and borders are fully covered and we are emptying the ridiculously large compost, so nowhere else to put them.Dinner is slow cooked gammon, AF potatoes and broccoli, so nice and simple.Good to see you posting @camelot1001 glad you’re on the mend.Hope all our poorlies are improving. Hugs to those in need of one, and have a good day all.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 25/25 Currently reading Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent13 -
Hi all
Hope all the poorlies are ok, and recovering.Supposed to be drier today before horrendous weather tomorrow. Will maybe have a walk by the river though it’s probably flooded in places, I know they’re putting up the lower flood barriers in local town this morning.Going with DD to see his knee surgeon this afternoon, it’s still really painful so he’s fed up. The rheumatologist suggested he go back so will see what happens. Added to that DM needs a blood transfusion so that will probably be tomorrow but she’ll likely need another blood test maybe today sometime.
I might get some crafting done this evening maybe

Morning allStill feels warmer than it should be this time of year but apparently it's going to get alot colder next week. Something to look forward to, NOTI've a cross stitch square that my youngest DS did in school 30 odd years ago and it's fraying so I've got some ribbon and some wonder web stuff to put round it to stop it fraying any more. Talking to my friend yesterday she said why don't you just put it in a picture frame. Why didn't I think of that! So during coffee break after doing some dusting and hoovering downstairs that's my job to go on t'internet and find a frame that it will fit in. Little things please little minds lolHope everyone has a good day and hugs for all our poorlies xx10

Morning everyone
Wet and windy here this morning...my bins have both blown over and are at the bottom of the garden.
I need to go out a bit earlier this morning as I have a prescription to collect in town, then I'll get the bus to work.
DD texted first thing to say little one is poorly, she thinks she has tonsillitis again, which she only had a couple of weeks ago....so she's off school again. She's trying to get her a doctors appointment.
At least she was there yesterday when the parts in the school play were chosen...she rang me very excited because she got the part she really wanted...a camel !!! They do have a lovely camel costume.
Right I'd best get on, hope everyone has a good day today x

It looks fab, as will yours. The day is drier than the night has been! Just little pittering so far, fingers crossed that's how it stays. I've been out already, I had an order to send back to JL via the delivery office and I called into the shop for eggs. Now got two boiled eggs mashed in a cup for breakfast, drinking first coffee before I eat.Good luck to all our poorlies who are having appointments or procedures, hope it all works out well. Hugs all round.

Morning everyone pouring down here has never stopped all night well I don’t have to think of anything to eat tonight as I’m going out for a meal the manager in the charity shop is getting married next week they have lived together for 15 years so they are just going to the register office and for a meal very low key so we are all taking her out for a meal tonight it’s just a little restaurant opposite the charity shop and he said instead of a meal why don’t I put a buffet on for you all then you can all chat amongst yourself which will be nice because I’ve haven’t met some of them that help out there they are on different days to me he has charged us all ten pounds each I’ve heard good reviews about it although I’ve never been so I’m looking forward to it it’s booked for 5 o’clock so the girls who are in today will just go over straight from work. Ruby how thoughtful I’m sure she will be thrilled. AA my hubby has had two new knees over the last couple of years and he says it’s the best thing he has ever done . I need to pop out for a couple of things but hubby will take me golf has been called off because of the rain so no doubt he will have a face like a smacked backside all day pleased I’m going out . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Good morning all and thanks @Gers for this morning's start. At the moment it's dry and fine out, a pleasant change to wake up to sunshine, but I'm not sure how long it will last as we're forecast light rain for the best part of the day. Much cooler too. Up to now I've been managing with a quilted bedspread on the bed but want to change over to the winter duvet ready for the colder nights, so I'll get that out today and give it an airing in the spare bedroom.
SM delivery is due between 11am and 12 noon, one substitute (acceptable) and one out of stock (not a disaster). I've done well as a lot of things I ordered were on promotional prices and I wasn't sure whether I'd get them or not. The fridge and freezer are clean and tidy (for now) so it shouldn't take too long to put away.
After that I'll add some iron-on heavy weight interfacing to the back of the cross stitch bookmarks I've done (to make them more robust and hide the not-so tidy stitching on the back
) and then I can wrap them with the books I've bought, ready for Xmas.
Tea tonight is sausages (I found a couple "hiding" in yesterday's freezer tidy up) with hash browns and baked beans.
@dp1 - I'm so sorry to hear LO isn't well again but had to laugh at her delight of being chosen to be a camel!
Bless.
@Izzy - Enjoy your buffet and chat with colleagues tonight.
I hope all goes well for those with hospital appointments/procedures and home repairs, safe journeys if you're ferrying loved ones around. Take care all, stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hi everyone,
dp1, oh no tonsillitis is so debilitating, I hope she gets an appointment. Touch wood Esben hasn't had a bout since he had his adenoids out and grommets inserted. We have noticed his hearing seems to have deteriorated a bit again so I hope the grommets haven't stopped working. He has also got his part in the Christmas play, he is the narrator, Laura had expected him to get something like third shepherd from the left as he only joined the school in September.
I'm feeling physically tired today but still have to make a bit of an effort. I need to sort the utility room cupboards and put away all the things that are just being left on the work surface, it causes me stress. I don't really understand why because it takes so little time to put things away. Steve has also got into the very irritating habit of not closing drawers. Mainly his bedroom drawers but yesterday I walked into the kitchen and found the crockery and cutlery drawers wide open, they're soft close so only need a gentle push taking a millisecond to do, why is he doing this.
I'd better get on, I need to make a shopping list for the weekend, including stuff for a birthday cake, I have most of it but will need cream cheese for the frosting.
Have a good day.
