Car insurance not repairing to good standard

I had a small accident n my car and scratched the passenger side rear door. It went in for repair but came out with the rear door a slightly different shade of paint but that was also sparkly/glittery when the rest of my car is not. They had also not gone to the edges so there was a silly line that was really obvious. I complained and it went back in. They then had my car in for 7 WEEKS and the company doing the despair said they couldn’t get hold of my car insurance company to sign off the repair and when I tried calling my insurance company they said they hadn’t been contacted yet. I finally went to collect it and the rear door was back to normal colour but it looks like someone has got a lighter coloured spray can and sprayed half way from the front passenger door to the rear passenger door. I said I just needed my car back as we were going away and I had left child seats etc in the car (never imagining it would take this long!) and I would take it up with the insurance company as I felt this place was just incapable of doing a decent repair. My insurance company have said they will give me £700 but the quotes I’ve had from 3 garages say that the full repair of painting both doors and side where this spray has been put will be between £1700 and £2500. Where do I go from here? Do I just need to go to small claims or FCA as they are not doing what they have been paid to do?

I would think your contract was with the insurance company, not with their contractor.0

So did you go to the garage the insurer requested you go to or did you select your own garage?SchoolMummy said:I had a small accident n my car and scratched the passenger side rear door. If it's an older car, it's more difficult to match faded paint.0
