Hi,
My daughter is English (Scottish mother, English father) she is studying Nursing in Glasgow, she has been awarded just over £5000 Maintenance loan and we have filled out the relevant forms for it to be reconsidered. I found out that she might be able to apply for the NHS LSF, however because she is English and studying in Scotland she isn't eligible and because she is English she isn't eligible to apply for the Scottish equivalent.
Is there any way around this issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's not the fact that your daughter is English (or indeed Welsh or Scottish) that precludes her from these advantages, it's the fact that she was not resident in Scotland for at least three years before the commencement of the course.
Were the eligibility details of the various awards, bursaries and loans not available when Glasgow was chosen?2 -
Yes we were aware but presumed through calculations that we would meet the criteria of a higher maintenance loan. It was not possible to live in Glasgow prior to starting uni, which would have made a difference. My main query, is there a fund through the NHS that English students studying in Scotland can access? Or does anyone know of another fund that can help?0
