Multiple credit checks

Hi,
For some bizarre reason, I've had a soft credit check by Lloyds Bank every day for the last 4 days. It's a bit concerning, as I don't have any nor have I ever had any accounts with Lloyds. I have never applied for a Lloyds product either directly with the bank or by a credit search service such as MSE Credit Club, etc. I have not made any searches for any credit products in 2 months. I don't have any active accounts with Lloyds Banking Group but I did have accounts with Halifax a few years ago.
Why would a bank I have no dealings with do this?

Any insurance products/loans etc coming up for renewal? Quite often get a few soft searches when companies are deciding if/what type of product they want to market at me.
Doesn't really answer why they need to do it 4 times.1 -

It could be that they're just running some marketing campaigns, and looking for the appropriate target customer base to send advertising out to.Do remember that a soft search can only be seen by you. It's not visible to other lenders, and has no impact whatsoever on your credit file.0
