there is a simple questionnaire re ill health. We are using this insurer this year0 -
Sometimes it's possible to declare a condition but decline cover for it, IYSWIM. Obviously this is only a sensible thing to do if the condition isn't likely to NEED treatment while you're away - I declared my (benign) brain tumour pre-surgery in this way, but there was no way any foreigners were getting a look at it, as it wasn't going to cause any problems.
If both the heart and the diabetes are now stable that would be worth considering.
But you will almost certainly need to make phone calls to get cover properly in place.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
got a really good deal with free spirt for my father in law he has the same medical condition plus a few more £51
the first quote we got was £600 alot came in at £150/£200 one could insure him but not cover the medical conditions if you put this into search thats where we got the link fromNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
You get free insurance if you book flight and / or accomodation with a Capital 1 card.
Many banks include insurance (with no medical declarations to make) as a "freebe" with their premium accounts, check LTSB and RBOS.
Apply for EHIC card

Try DiabetesUK for a quote, or Google special insurance.
BUPA also do insurance but I think you have to be insured with them - I am so now I use theirs. Shop around for a quote- some are more flexible than others.Blagged: free samples of handwash from Molton Brown; booklet of walks from Brecon Carreg;
Free Diabetes monitor, free bee-friendly seeds, a MINI coin and a splash-proof book from Radox.:T0 -

RBS no longer include free insurance with their Royalities account if you are over 60 and have an existing condition which can include high blood pressure and similar drug controlled conditions. Mind you at £12 a month its not exactly a freebie.
You could try the Post Office although you will probably have to phone in as well.0 -
Hi, just to let you know i tried Saga and was quoted £289 for a single trip!!!
Anyway got full 12month cover from our bank for £150. Ringing around it seems to be the norm now, but i think Saga are taking the biscuit.0 -

I got this info from the Daily Telegraph
Finding reasonably priced annual multi-trip travel insurance for anyone over 75 - even if they are fit and healthy - is no easy matter. It could get even more difficult from December this year as insurance underwriters are talking of reducing age limits for annual policies.
Anyone over 74 should consider renewing an existing policy early to avoid being caught out by any changes in terms and age limits. One of the companies listed below, FT Insurance, allows customers to start their annual policy up to three months after paying.
Customers with either current or past conditions have to shop around for the best deal and to take the medical screening interview very seriously. Give clear, concise answers, but do not proffer explanation. When asked if you have pre-existing medical conditions always start your response with these words: "I have a stable and controlled past medical condition". Obviously if the condition is ongoing drop the word "past". I asked several insurance companies to prepare a quote for this reader that must include all her pre-existing conditions.
One of the best value annual policies is offered by FT Insurance Services (0116 272 0500, no website as it prefers to speak to its customers). It has an upper age limit of 85 and quoted £196 for a worldwide policy (35-day limit per trip). One reason for the low price is that baggage cover is limited to £200 per suitcase, but luggage can be covered under a home contents policy.
Flexicover (0870 990 9292, www.flexicover.com), which also has an age limit of 85, quoted £186 excluding travel in North America and the Caribbean, or £340 if they are included. These rates exclude baggage cover, which costs an extra £42; maximum stay is 35 days per trip.
Another inexpensive policy is offered by Co-operative Insurance (0845 746 4646, www.cis.co.uk), with no age limit. It has quoted £189 with a maximum stay of 42 days per trip. The disadvantage of this policy is its restrictive medical cover. It excludes any pre-existing condition where medication was originally prescribed by a hospital consultant rather than a GP, even if the condition has been stable for many years.
Age Concern (0845 685 1058, www.ageconcern.org.uk) quoted £352 for full worldwide cover with a per-trip maximum of 31 days and no age limit. Saga (0800 096 4556, www.saga.co.uk) charged £279 excluding North America and a whopping £536 to include the region.
Hope this of use.:hello: N:hello:A :hello:N :hello:A :hello:M :hello:A :hello:G :hello:S :hello:0 -

Neither Saga nor Age Concern have ever been a good deal for home or travel insurance as can been seen on just this board if you do a search. They are merely the middle man and they want their cut as well.0
