Been raining here most of the night and will be on and off all day, I am off to see Matt today and we are going to get the bus to his local town to get his mum a Birthday present her Birthday is tomorrow, I have had a personalised card for him to give her with a lovely photo I took of him in the woods he is smiling and the sun is on his face, I think she will love it.
Dinner tonight will be a fish finger sandwich with a few chips, nice easy dinner after work. The washing machine man is coming Thursday thank goodness, the washing is piling up again, I just hope he can fix it, we also have the insurance man coming out Friday, the room is staring to smell damp now, we have been unable to do anything till the insurance man has been, once he has been we can hopefully take the flooring up to access the damage underneath.
I got a few more stocking fillers yesterday so on Friday I will pull everything out and sort it into Birthday / Christmas and then start wrapping, I dislike wrapping presents so I will do a few at a time and then it won’t seem so bad.
Have good days all and take care xx14 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off RubySounds like a lovely picture you took of Matt. Yes, I'm sure his mum will cherish itI trod on something in my bedroom yesterday morning. I've no idea what it could have been so have been hobbling about. Feels a bit better this morning. Feeling like an old crock at the moment! It's going to be dry here today so the forecast has promised me so will put some washing out later and just some hoovering, dusting and cleaning the bathroom today to keep me busy.Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to the poorlies xx12

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Ruby
Was thinking of going shopping but cba.
Freezer is full so plenty to eat.
Not doing Christmas, decided if DS wants nothing to do with me I'll just send a card. I'll send my DGS a separate card and money, to be honest I've no idea what a teenager wants.
Will spend Christmas on my own, just another day.
Take care

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's a gloomy start here but thankfully the heavy rain of yesterday evening has moved on. Sadly it's due back later. One bonus is that it's still mild.
RUBY that photo sounds lovely, I'm sure Matt's mum will treasure it. I hope he finds a nice gift for her today.
I had a nice lunch meet with DF yesterday and I think it did her good to get away from her DH for a while. His constant scrolling of his phone and buying (or making a mess of buying) stupid stuff is driving her mad. She says it's like an obsession with him.. I'd be getting a sledgehammer to that phone before he has them bankrupt.
Well a going nowhere seeing no-one day in store for me so no excuse for not getting stuck into some jobs, other than I cba!! Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. And the MIA. Take care all x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning from soggy Mehefinland
Gosh, the overnight rain was biblical ! Woke me up several times, and my poor gutters were overflowing everywhere- it sounded like a real cascade! ( no I didn't get up to check lol). Really need to crack on with some decorating whilst the weather is so poor, but cba. My bedroom desperately needs a refresh - I don't remember when it was last done, but a colour change is on the cards - thinking of a light wedgewoody blue ( think its called Jasper?). Its been pink (yuk) since the year dot but I was not allowed to alter it - it is looking tired, so it's time. It will be new curtains and carpet too. The biggest problem is the artexed ceiling which is in good condition but looking a bit grubby, and the dreaded woodchip. Think I will leave that alone - can't be bothered with all the mess it will generate - so a good old wishy washy of emulsion is coming its way
Lots of little jobs on my to do list - ain't in funny how all the small jobs seem to take the longest to do? Think I get easily distracted and disappear down rabbit holes if something more interesting turns up. Oh well, there's always tomorrow
Enough burbling
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all - and thanks for starting us off @Ruby. What a lovely idea, I'm sure that Matt's mum will be thrilled.OUCH! to @Chrisca, it's a nasty thing to do. As for Christmas @SO - I've always preferred Christmas on my own as the expectations always outweigh the reality. I think it's whatever suits you and, if others don't want to share it with you then it's their loss. A wee hug for you.My quick zip for shopping was worthwhile as the rains hit later on in the day. When I got back the chap up the hill delivered a pack of venison meat, all ready for the freezer. Four loads of chunks for casserole and four lovely loins for roasting. I had to clear some space for them so did the juggling act. Then I did a tip run before settling down to inertia. The heavy rains arrived, it was so horrible, but now it's dry. Overnight sounded the worst.I've cancelled the cleaner for this morning, I wanted to have a lie-in and stay in the house. The worry about the health problem is now just oozing out! Relief is hard work.
Hugs to all those facing hospital appointments for themselves or family members.11 -
Morning everyone
It rained all day yesterday - dry today but more rain from tomorrow.
Eldest DD is going to Lanzarote today...she was reading me their weather forecast last night...thanks! I've borrowed her Netflix while she's away.
Little one was back at school on Monday, she's still needing Calpol morning and night but, other than that, seems ok - I got a lovely wave and kisses blown when I went into work yesterday. Her classroom is just across the yard from our nursery building.
Redruby that was a lovely idea for Matt's mum.
SO - The whole build up to Christmas must be hard for you, it seems to last for so long nowadays. You can only do what you're doing and hopefully one day you'll hear from them. Just an idea, maybes you could put your email address in your grandsons' card just to give him an alternate way to get in touch, if he's old enough that is....sorry if I'm interfering x
Right I'd best get moving - I need to go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and then get some shopping. I've told my friend I'll go over for a cuppa this afternoon but need to have a sort of the Christmas presents I've already got first - I think I said I was going to do that on Sunday afternoon !
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning all
Thankfully just a few hours work today cos I feel very behind with everything else I’m trying to get done.Have finally got DM and DDs Powers of attorney done and in my bag to post off. It’s been challenging getting them to do them but the price goes up (England) next week and the prospect of saving £40 was enough to galvanise some activity! Fortunately our neighbour is a financial adviser and he was able to assist with explanations and signatures. The weather is horrid so some sewing is planned for the rest of the day.Take care all

Thank you dp1, no you're not interfering, I'm always happy to have suggestions, it's such a heartbreaking situation.dp1 said:Morning everyone

DGS can use WhatsApps to contact me, not sure what he's been told, but I don't hear from him, I have tried messaging him.If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.9 -
Moring! for a change, it is actually morning
Last two cakes to go today, it's still raining today so no gardening time, so you'd have thought by now the house would be immaculate...nope..I may hoover later but that's it, I have an apple crumble to make to take to Ohs mums for tea, so planning the cakes to come out before that can go in is the job of the day. I may get the sds drill out and chip off the concrete to make the next step after the cakes are in the oven instead. And I also think I'll give making a pannetone a try, I found a recommended recipe judging by the comments so my sister might get to eat one she likes [ she doesn't like mixed peel] Gers, yes, let the relief make you soggy, it's a good result. Chris, ouch! TA, do you usually book for your meals out? Might be an idea...Ruby, what a lovely thing to do, see, you are a nice and thoughful person so don't even worry about the next person you encounter who does what that other woman did. Fingers crossed for rapid sorting of floor and stuff...Loving you and leaving you now, cakes to batter into submission, thank god for electric whisks! Maybe I should try the stand mixer for these two...take care all!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8
