CC Balance transfer failure

Last week got a new Virgin CC at 0% and had a successful balance transfer-in on opening it. Still below the Virgin credit limit and a further CC balance with the RBS bank CC. So in the Virgin App tried to transfer the RBS in as well, but that was not accepted, simple saying 'cannot transfer in from any CC in the Clydesdale group', but RBS is part of NATWEST group - no other reason given.

Phoned Virgin CC call centre and they helpfully also tried to do the transfer and failed as well, which they couldn't understand why it was not accepted (even the shift leader didn't know).

I have raised a complaint with Virgin to find out why the transfer wasn't acceptable.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with Virgin CC or know why this can't be done, please?

Could this affect my creditworthiness and have to be owned up to in future? :(
Thank you

The RBS balance transfer wouldn't have taken you to 95% or more of your Virgin Credit Limit would it? Most BT cards only permit BT's upto 95% of the credit limit.

This will probably include any BT fee as well.

Unlikely to be your reason given your error message but I had a transfer fail to the same Virgin card last week - turned out that I had frozen the card as I routinely do with any card not used day to day.

Thank you, only remembered about that % limit in the middle of last night :). And would have only got to 76%, so 'should' of been OK - lack of reason is the annoying/frustrating part. Never really been aware of the ability to 'freeze' a CC but will check. Now, just await a response of some sort from Virgin :/
