Legal advice needed - Value Doors - Will not honour warranty

Hi
I had some new doors and windows fitted in April of this year. The company I used was called Value Doors and Windows and in all correspondence with them, including quotes, they used this name. When I paid, I had to pay to MR Home Improvements but thought nothing of it as the company clearly had a few different names it operated under and it had good reviews etc.
I recently contacted them as there was an issue with my front door. They answered saying:
The company that you purchased from as this order was before 24th September 2025 was MR Home Improvement Ltd which is in administration. We now operate the website (***_)only and have no previous customer data. Unfortunately your warranty ended on the administration of MR Home Improvement Ltd and we are unable to help.
Where do I stand with this? The company they have said I ordered this through was never mentioned and having a warranty was quite an important requirement when we chose the company!
Anyone have any experience of this?
Thanks

Did you do everything through https://www.valuedoors.co.uk/?
Thing is MR Home Improvements started insolvency 31/07/25 (https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14448469/insolvency)
The catch though is if you go to the value doors site, click the job opportunities (linkedin page is dead) it takes you to total jobs and the URL name shows that was the MR Home Improvements page.
The director has a 'new company' - https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/16136901 which shows as Home Windows Ltd since December 2024 - expect the business type description is '62012 - Business and domestic software development"
Seems to be one of those directors/companies that sells, flips itself to avoid cost/catch/tax and goes again.
What do the T&C's of your purchase actually say?

What would it cost to get resolved by another local company?
That is the value of your loss.
How did you pay for the windows and doors?
Did you pay any of the cost, even just a deposit, by credit card?0 -

Don't know if some clever person can work out wat those pages said back in April? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
@visidigi, thank you. Yes, all my correspondence was with Value Doors - all emails to these addresses and all quotes in this name, although the payment was made to MR Home Improvements. I must admit, their Ts and Cs were online and I did not copy them so I cannot see them now as they've been updated. My error.0

@Grumpy_chap, thank you.
I don't think the cost of this repair will be huge, but I am concerned that I now don't have the 10 year warranty that we paid for should anything else arise.
I paid with a credit card0 -
I think you need to accept that the warranty is not there - the company you placed the order with has gone. Even if you could establish a link to the new company (valid in terms of liabilities continuing), a Director / Company that forms and dissolves to escape liabilities won't actually honour anything.elstar2025 said:@Grumpy_chap, thank you.

Get a quote from another company to fix the problem.
Was the installation signed off through FENSA? You could contact FENSA to see if that offers any route for redress.
If that all fails, then as you paid by CC, you may be able to pursue a claim under S75.
What was the total value of the supply & installation?
I am not sure how the detail of a potential S75 claim would function in a case like this - there are others in the forum that regularly visit this board so I am sure they will comment shortly.0 -
Not a clever person but you can try using the WayBack Machine

So https://web.archive.org/web/20250316091803/https://www.valuedoors.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/ and the footer of the page says:
We are MR Home Improvement trading as Value Doors; Company Registration Number 14448469
Seems the old company was owned by Mr, thats now in administration and Mrs has set up a new company and bought certain assets like the website and trading name from the administrators2 -
Really, the only warranties worth having are insurance backed. Even then, they are likely to have serious restrictions on claims. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
