Morning everyone pleased to hear your news Gers and you Camelot take care both of you . Not long in from a cleaning job it a miserable rainy day here and no chance of it brightening up . I will have to have a tidy up before I do anything I’ve been sorting out a regular saver and I have paperwork laid about all over I’ve been having a cuppa while I was doing it so that’s my excuse. I’ve been given some things of the lady I clean for to take to the charity shop for her but that will have to wait until Friday I’m not going up in this rain so they are in a bag in the garage. Jacket potatoes tonight hubby is having sausages with his . I am going to have to sort my diary out I’ve got all sorts of scribbles in it and crossing outs just bits and bobs I’ve got to remember to do nothing important you would think I had an exciting life looking at it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Hi everyone,
Gers, glad your procedure went ok, fingers crossed you don't have long to wait for the procedure.
Camelot, also glad you're home and doing well, don't try to do too much though, it takes time to fully recover.
dp1, I hope your appointment goes ok.
Mehefin, take it easy.
Coxy, best wishes to Mr Coxy and his back.
Ruby, fingers crossed for the washing machine.
Sorry to the people I've not mentioned, it's not for want of trying.
We had a busy weekend (well Steve and Chris mainly) putting up a mural of hay making in tractor obsessed Nate's bedroom. Yesterday I had a dental check up. All was well, he always compliments me on my mouth hygeine and when I said I had to be more diligent with flossing now because my gums seem to have receded he told me that I had the gum recession of the average 30 year old, so I felt quite chuffed by that.
We are still battling a horrible flea infestation from when the Ziggy pup came last. She was here three and a half years and we didn't have a flea problem but as soon as they moved to Bristol it happened, I think the concentration of dogs in the parks is so much higher than the countryside round here. The have been very stubborn, we have trapped, sprayed and flea bombed several times. As a last resort I bought a steam cleaner and went round the bedroom at the weekend, hopefully that will be it otherwise I think I will have a nervous breakdown.
They are coming for the weekend to celebrate the children's birthdays with us and their local friends (it was Esben's birthday last week and Esther's next) so I have things to do.
Have a good day.

Afternoon all...late one from me. Got up and realised with the timings for the cakes and the opticians appointment I had to shuffle stuff about a bit but eyes are the same, yay and the cakes were slightly too ready when I got home thanks to late appointments etc...No biggie, they're slightly cracke don top but some cognac will fix most things
Two more to go and maybe an extra one if there's stuff left over, I don't really want to keep mixed peel until next year unless I decide to make a pannetone...that could be a challenge. Other than that, I have sheet pan kebabs again for supper, so nice with mandonlin'd cabbage in lemon juice, I have an apple crumble to make to take ot OHs mums for tea tomorrow and I may finally get to the allotment on Thursday...Camelot, good to see you're home and posting, take your time, just read, don't stress
Gers, also good ot hear the procedure went well, fingers crossed for more quality of life...snoozer, shame about the fleas [ I had them once, I had to hoover seven days in a row everywhere, I was so over that when I finished and it is really tiring day in day out] but it's so cute that you're doing a hay making mural, so sweet! Izzy, I have a little jotter pad thing I write stuff down in, it gets replaced every so often but so handy for remembering things on the go, like the sizes of walls, or the plumbers number
Right, off for a cup of tea and a nibble of something, haven't had anything since breakfast and I'm starviing, but if you talked ot my OH, he'd tell you I'm always starving.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi7 -
@Snoozer - oh no to the fleas. You may have to steam clean a couple of times (I have seen it recommended that you do it three days apart. One place recommended putting a flea collar in the vacuum bag to kill any you vacuum up. Other recommendations are for drying up the fleas by putting down salt or talcum powder in the carpet, leaving overnight, and then vacuuming it up (to dry out the fleas). I have also tried putting down a bowl of water with a bit of washing up liquid and leaving it near a lamp so the fleas will jump in and drown. I do know that putting them in a bowl of water with dish washing up liquid will kill them as the soap makes it so they can't swim. You can also spray the carpet with Dawn washing up liquid as Dawn will dry them up also. And then vacuuming the next day. Might have to combine a few things to get it to work.
@mehefin - My Christmas stockings held either an orange or a tangerine, a quarter (25 cents), usually a small toy like a ball, and some chocolate candy if I was lucky. And there was a limit of $10, later raised to $25 as we became teenagers (my sister and I, plus much younger brother and sister as they came along), for the presents. And we always went to Mother's parents for dinner. We did Thanksgiving dinner at the other grandparents' house.
Hope you can all stay dry and warm. We are supposed to get rain Thursday and Friday. Lots of it all at once. Not good for the burn areas so we will have flooding in some areas. Should be okay where I live (near Disneyland).8
