Flat recently bought, no kitchen lights, seller said they were working before she left.Had to get electrician to fix. Boiler thermostat faulty, would she have known? Got boiler serviced and new wireless thermostat installed.Thats where the problems start, had to replace a few parts costing over £600 for labour and parts. Now there is some weeping from release valve.Have taken boiler and heating insurance with homeserve. Boiler health due on Friday. Should I mention about slight leak from release valve or let him find it myself? Is it coincidence that so many issues with boiler %? The boiler service only pointed to thermostat replacement nothing else. Promised to send report by email, still no joy and he was recommended by EA.Anybody bought a house and find they have to a lot of repairs. We did have a building surveyed. Am getting nervous after spending so much, how much more will we have to spend. I think the second tradesman caused damage to the boiler.

Are all the circuits on at the distribution board?
That might solve the kitchen lights issue.
It sounds like the boiler is working in a fashion - powered up - so not the same circuit as the kitchen lights.1 -
As regards your kitchen lights, it is 'possible', tho' highly unlikely and would be very unusual indeed, for the kitchen lights to share the boiler circuit.
So, if only the kitchen lights failed, your boiler should have remained unaffected by this.
Your boiler, and everything associated with it, which includes all the controls, timers and thermostats, should all be supplied from a single point, such as a fused isolating switch. Its location should be obvious.
This switch will almost certainly be supplied from a nearby 'socket' circuit, whichever one is closest to the boiler. Eg, if the boiler is in the kitchen, than almost certainly it'll be a spur off the kitchen sockets.
It shouldn't be from the lighting circuit.

As above, what did the electrician say was the problem and/or what did he/she do to fix it.Boiler thermostat faulty, would she have known? Got boiler serviced and new wireless thermostat installed.Thats where the problems start, had to replace a few parts costing over £600 for labour and parts.
In what way was the thermostat faulty?
For example, people sometimes have 'knacks' for making things work (e.g. turn off and on again, compensate for inaccurate thermostat by setting 5 degrees higher etc) - which perhaps the seller didn't think to mention to you.
What parts needed replacing and why? (Some tradespeople can be keen to do extra work which isn't 100% necessary.)
Personally, I wouldn't mention it - but I suspect it's something that the engineer would check anyway.ahfat41 said:

They might say you have to pay to get that fixed, before they'll offer you the breakdown plan.
