Ryanair flyer? Home-printed boarding passes won't be accepted from 12 November

I hope you can see the disconnect between the simple "Ryanair will print the pass for you" statement and the actuality you describe with its assumptions and likelys and probables.la531983 said:I assume it will be at the bag drop desks for the larger airports where they have machines, they arent unmanned and there is always someone floating around. For airports where you still have to go up to a desk to weigh the bag (sure I had to at Palma a few years ago) it will likely be that person who does it. I doubt there will be a special desk as per.0 -
Until someone actually goes with real life experience and tells us that isnt what the process is, thats all we can go off. Same with anything,flaneurs_lobster said:

I'm flying Ryanair in December from Liverpool airport. My son who lives abroad always books my ticket, checks me in and emails it to me and I print it out. I am 79 and not tech savvy. I have an iphone but not the ryanair app. Can anyone help as to what I should do. Thanks0

If you have an Iphone and are capable of navigating web forums, registering an account and posting, then installing the Ryanair app on it is likely to be the best solution?Lyndi7 said:I'm flying Ryanair in December from Liverpool airport. Is dealing with apps in this day and age really something only the "tech savvy" are able to do? You can clearly deal with email so why is an app scary?
Your options are:
- Get a young person who lives near you to show you how to download the Ryanair app, log in as your son (given he booked the flight)) and then you have access to the boarding pass (young person can also show you where it is)
Or
- Get your son to check you in, and then you go to the airport and ask them to print out the boarding card. As already answered to people a few times in the last few days.1 -
Almost every time we download an app we seem to have to spend half-an-hour on the telephone trying to make the app work. Are airline apps better than other peoples ?0

I'm flying Ryanair to France in March to walk the Camino (500 miles to Santiago). I don't want to carry a smart-phone, powerbank, charger etc with me - partly a digital detox thing, partly avoiding unnecessary weight. Am I going to have bring my phone with me and then post it home to the UK?? What of others who don't have a smartphone? It concerns me that possession of a specific device is becoming a requirement to participate in society - (e.g. digital ID cards.)0

Can you still download the boarding pass as a pdf?
I usually book for the family and then share the pdfs through Whatsapp so everyone has their own.
The pass scanners have always accepted the QR code in any format so not sure how they will enforce that it has to be digital, but does it HAVE to be the Ryanair app or will any digital format do?0 -
This question had been answered multiple times by me in this thread alone.neeps said:I'm flying Ryanair to France in March to walk the Camino (500 miles to Santiago).
