Digital Exclusion...really not good for the civil liberty to not own a smart phone0

I mean, yet again, you just have to read the detail to see NOBODY is being excluded.macdoB said:Digital Exclusion...really not good for the civil liberty to not own a smart phone
Check in as normal (bear in mind people have actually had to book these flights ONLINE anyway)
Ask for a pass at the airport.
Nobody is being excluded.1 -
Easy solution is not to fly with Ryanair. TUI have started using them for some of their routes which means they are off the table for me.1

Again, just ask for one at the airport!TELLIT01 said:Easy solution is not to fly with Ryanair. TUI have started using them for some of their routes which means they are off the table for me.
Are people being deliberately obtuse and neglecting to consider this vital piece of information?1 -
I cannot wait for the picture of customers with their "compo face " saying they were denied boarding as their phone was u/s and there was no printer available to print out their boarding cards.0

Even before this change you would have needed to check in online for Ryanair, so assuming you can check in for both legs of the flight from the UK before flying out, you just ask Ryanair to print your boarding pass for you.neeps said:I'm flying Ryanair to France in March to walk the Camino (500 miles to Santiago). I don't want to carry a smart-phone, powerbank, charger etc with me - partly a digital detox thing, partly avoiding unnecessary weight. Am I going to have bring my phone with me and then post it home to the UK?? What of others who don't have a smartphone? It concerns me that possession of a specific device is becoming a requirement to participate in society - (e.g. digital ID cards.)
If you will need to check in whilst in France then you need some access to the internet otherwise Ryanair will charge you to check you in.0 -
Ryanair have required check in online for many many years, they charge (I think £55) to check you in at the aiport. All that has changed is you no longer print your own boarding pass, either bring a digital one, or check in online and they print the boarding pass at the airport.macdoB said:This is Digital Exclusion isn't it?0 -
Except Ryanair clearly state on their website they will allow you to board and will sort it out at the gate if your phone dies.diveunderthebonnet said:I cannot wait for the picture of customers with their "compo face " saying they were denied boarding as their phone was u/s and there was no printer available to print out their boarding cards.
