FSCS £85k limit rising

Read somewhere over the weekend that from 1st December the FSCS £85k protection is going up to £110k.

I don't have enough cash to worry about such things, though are we sure this is confirmed? A quick Google search tells me this is just a proposal from the Bank of England. Though there's not much time to confirm it if the plan is to implement it on the 1st of December.0
