APCOA parking fine-Manchester Airport- no reply- Urgent help needed

I received a fine in August from APCOA for going through drop off at Manchester airport Terminal 1 by mistake. I wrote back with the recommended text from this forum. They replied back and are asking for the information of the driver, name and address. I replied with the advice from this forum saying “This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given”

They have not replied yet and my fine is now £100 on their website and seems open. I have to return my lease car this week so I’m panicking. What shall I do next? There is no way to contact them except an online form that

Did the charge come in your own name?

Or did the lease company just copy their letter to you, asking you to ‘deal with it’?

You’ve got to head APCOA off from contacting the lease company again with a good possibility that the lease company will pay the charge and charge your credit card and with a tasty ‘admin charge’ added.

The lease company can formally transfer liability from themselves to you (as ‘the hirer’ - not ‘the driver’), so you must get them to do so, that will take them out of the firing line. If you look on the back of the APCOA letter they’ve passed you, the process for liability transfer will be shown there.  It might be possible to do so online - check it out.

However, if APCOA are now writing directly to you (depending on what they are saying), they may have already been attracted away from the lease company.  Are you accessing the APCOA website by using your own details, which might suggest that is the case.

So you haven't had one in your name?

  • Thanks for your advice. I’ve already received an admin fee from the lease company.

I haven’t had anything sent to my name as I haven't disclosed myself. I did give the address of the lease company on my appeal as that is the only address they have. Should I not have done that?
