Hello all from Mehefinland
A bit of a hectic weekend in many ways. Litter pick Saturday morning which yielded about 7 big bags between the four of us that turned up. This was all in preparation for Rememberance Sunday. Then a bonfire party at a neighbours in the evening - there was a huge fireworks display going off at the local wedding venue - they must have wasted a fortune. The it lashed down all night but cleared up just in time for church on Sunday. The procession to the war memorial went off well, a significant police presence ( well 2 pcso's!) , the local Air Cadets with their drums and another jazz type band which was a surprise. An awful lot of ex servicemen ( there's a new veterans club started up recently) and a few in uniform too. We no longer have the RAF here, but there is a tri-service unit based on the site so I think some may be from there( Its very hush-hush so you don't often see them ).
Generally a good turnout all round from the locals too. Then we just about escaped to the community centre for light refreshments and the heavens opened!!
Showman decided that the grass is definitely greener on the other side of the fence!! Came back with a load of shavings this morning and he is standing there looking at me with that innocent nonchalance look. Fairy hadn't joined him and was standing there as if to say "I'm a good girl, I haven't done anything wrong!". Needless to say it was raining, and the grass is long, so now I am soaked and my boots have leaked. He knows he is in disgrace. I have relented a bit and moved the electric fence over so they have more to eat - when they start getting naughty it's usually because there's not much left to chomp, or they are bored, or sometimes just because they can lol
Got the boiler being serviced today ( at last) so the entertainment is never ending lol
Hugs and spoons as always

@WickedLady4 - A walking tour down Oxford St sounds wonderful. Do you do your talk from written notes? Just wondering if you can print them on here so we can take the trip from a distance. Have been down Oxford St. many times - but never at Christmas.5
