Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope all goes well for you today. After a dry spell we have rain forecast for today and the rest of the week. The temps are set to drop by the w/e so winter arriving at last.
Not a lot has been achieved this w/e, mainly due to DGD being here most of the time. Although I did manage a quick grocery shop with DS. So today I should address some jobs but, as I had another rubbish night and feel half doped, I can't see anything too taxing getting done.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering, sad or lonely. Take care all x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -

Morning all
Raining here but still not very cold we are still managing with just the fire which is good , but the heating will go on as soon as it gets cold 🥶
DD and I went to the laundrette yesterday the washing was piling up so we took two big loads and put them in two big machines we half dried one load while waiting for the other to finish and then finished it off at home. DD then stripped her bed so I will take that washing to mums today and get that done, I’m hoping to hear from the repair man soon, it’s a pain not having a machine.
Dinner tonight is summer in winter chicken DD is off so she will probably cook, I am going to mums today to work and I think she wants to go to Tesco so I have done a list of the bits we need too.
Gers I hope all goes well today xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -

Morning all and thanks @Gers for starting us off, best wishes all goes well for your procedure. Today looks like being the best day of the week weather-wise and right now it's bright and sunny with a beautiful blue sky but becoming cloudier in the afternoon followed by rain this evening. Rain every day after that and set to get colder towards the end of the week too.

Back to normal today after a lovely weekend with DS and his partner. Saturday's charity bonfire was well attended and thankfully it was dry and not too cold out. DS was in charge of cooking and made us a seafood risotto on Saturday and duck filled pancakes yesterday but I'll have to have a rummage in the freezer to see what I can defrost for my tea tonight. I don't think I'll be doing too much today as we may have indulged in a few tipples - I need to rehydrate and catch up on some sleep.
but I'll have a read back of what everyone's been up to and might pop back later.
In the meantime I'll wish everyone a good start to the new week and send hugs for our poorly brigade. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all! Hissing down here so no gardening but two Christmas cakes have been made, only six to go. I've got to get used to the new oven too, the colour on the first two is really insipid, good job they're for me and my cousin. She won't mind because there's plenty of booze in there.. Sheet pan kebabs for tonight so I have to go and get some parsley and red onion. Everything else I have. I'll make two more cakes today, do a bit of cleaning, wash my floor length winter hoodie and search or a larder type thing. Still haven't found anything I really like that I'd be happy to install shelving in, or at least I did find one thing but I don't know if it would stand up to the weight of food and saucepans, and it is a little bit too deep. A secondhand one of these https://www.oakfurnitureland.co.uk/furniture/detroit-solid-hardwood-and-metal-triple-wardrobe/10001455.html at what I would call a very reasonable price...Ah well, the search continues. I ca knit and crochet but I cant follow a pattern unless locked in a room with nothing else to do but I'm great at rectangular things
My mother was an excellent crocheter [?is it a word?] and put freehand edging on all the tablecloths we had growing up, as well as lacy whatnotsGrs, fingers crossed for today and good to hear camelot is doing well.. Ruby, what a pain to have to go to the laundrette although the good thing about them is that you can cram everything in to the big machines. Allie, hope your aches and pains are swiflty over..Ah but Izzy, you need good crusty bread with soup r at least some dumplings
I've found thi year, weirdly , that the veg suet makes a fluffier dumpling than the beef one...Some fresh rosemary and thyme in them, and now I'm salivating..oops..Coxy, hope your OH gets an appointment soon...Take care all the lurgied, hope you recover soon...

Morning all.
I should be getting ready to meet friends for a walk this morning but our leader decided the weather forecast was too wet so the walk and the pub lunch afterwards have been cancelled.
Luckily I made a lasagne yesterday so we can finish that off today but it's back to doing the ironing and maybe buying a few Christmas cards and stamps.
It's my turn to lead the walk next month so I'm offering a Christmas Lights walk, starting in Oxford St. I've kept this Sunday free to check it out beforehand so will do a bit of research before then.
Best wishes to all and hope everyone is recovering from their various ailments/operations.13 -
Morning everyone
Just a quickie from me as I was late getting up and I have a few jobs to do before I go to work. It took me ages to get to sleep last night.
DD was planning on sending little one to school today, she has calpol kept at school as she gets it on prescription, so she can have some at lunchtime if necessary.
I had an extremely lazy afternoon yesterday, did nothing useful just read and had a chat with DD in Germany...she's off to Lanzarote on Wednesday.
Right I'd best get on hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all. Good luck today Gers. I had a nice walk this morning through the park, lovely blue sky and gorgeous leaves. Couple of little chats on the way through.Yesterday was quiet, walk in the afternoon with DH, and then I decided to defrost the chest freezer and make a list of everything including the small freezer, and have made a weekly plan to use up stuff- haha famous last words.Apart from that nothing new so I'll wish the poorlies all the best, have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
