Should I say anything?

A few days ago, I took a bank draft of between £1500 and £2000.

I'd have thought it would be charged to my current account on the same day. But so far, it hasn't been charged at all - and it hasn't reduced my available balance either.

Should I say anything? And what would happen if I don't? Thanks.
:p

What do you mean by a 'bank draft'? Are you saying they wrote you a 'bankers draft' [over the counter cheque?] and they seem to have forgotten to take this money from your account [usually it's the first thing they do, and then write your cheque for you]. Is this within an agreed overdraft then? I wouldn't normally expect to be charged anything except interest for this - and that would not be until the next bank statment was produced.

They may well have forgotten to debit your account but they will catch up. Bankers Draft accounts are balanced frequently by the bank and the outstanding amount will show up and be easily traceable to your account.

Sorry it's been a while since I posted ... I got arrested and then charged for fraud, and have only just made bail ....

... KIDDING! :p Truth is, bankers draft was for tenancy deposit, and my compy has been in transit.

Yep, that's exactly it. However, like JanCee says, it appeared on my account a few days later.

Which seems odd to me. If it was someone else, and not me, they could have drawn out all the money twice over and done a runner in that time.

I requested a duplicate statement(s) from Barclays several months ago covering a period of 8 months, I was advised there was a Charge of £5 which I agreed to, got the Statements but never was charged the £5.
    Ben ;)
