Router issues. No internet/TV at all!

Earlier today my router was running as normal. For several hours now it's been flashing orange/red. I accidentally switched off the plug earlier (I wanted the one next to it) but it was only off seconds. When it came back on the lights started flashing. I've turned it off before and never had an issue.

I've tried switching it off and on. I've tried switching the fibre box off and on. I've even factory reset it. All cables have been checked and are in place.

I've tried contacting my broadband provider via the live chat but it kept cutting out. (My phone signal in my house isn't very good) They're closed now.

My landline is connected to the router, so ringing them isn't an option unless I use my mobile and it's an 0345 number so very expensive. So I am hoping to avoid it.

Does anyone have any idea's on what I can try next please? Thank you very much in advance! 🙂

Who is your ISP and what type of fibre do you have?

If you have just be constantly resetting all the devices, turn them off completely for 5 minutes and try again.

03 numbers are normally included in any inclusive minutes you have, do you have any?

Try powering off for 60 minutes so the ISP closes the session.

I tried everything possible on my end. I even tried a new Ethernet cable to see if that was an issue. It wasn't. The only option left was then to test on their end. The Router needs replaced as it wasn't being picked up at all.

I thought the 03 numbers were too. I have minutes on my mobile package yet it still tried to charge me when I rang.. I ended up doing a live chat. 2 hours of my life I'll never get back!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I really appreciate them.

You have not actually answered the question which is quite important, what kind of fibre do you have? If you have FTTP then you can plug directly into the box, the WiFi router does not have anything to do with the internet, it is just there to give WiFi access, where as if you have FTTC then the router translates the incoming signal to usable internet as well as provide WiFi.

He made the distinction between "fibre box" and router, so I think he has.
