'Fridge/Freezer thermometers

Hi all

I need to buy a thermometer for my 'fridge and freezer but oh my goodness! They vary so much in how accurate they are.

Does anyone have a sure fire accurate brand to recommend?

Personally I always use the simple moving pointer ones in our fridge as they are pretty difficult to get wrong. In commercial premises they tend to either have thermometers built into the units, or they use hand held thermometers that they can move between units. At work we use Comark thermometers but they are often for evidential purposes and probably way above what you'll need. They have an air probe end on.

You just need one that will go down as far as -20c and up to around 10c. Can honestly say we've never had a freezer thermometer at home.

I got mine from a local DIY shop.
Seems to work well.
Just a little pointer one like this.

You can get such a range of types and styles . If you are keeping seafood on a regular basis then one of the digital ones would probably be best.
If it's just cheese, milk and bacon type thing then the pointer ones are fine 

But I tend to work just by how well the food keeps and how chilled it is.
