Help! wedding chairs.......

:o Hi every body iam new hope you dont mind me posting. Iam getting married 15th March and the whole wedding we have a budget of £2000 and we are doing quite well,we have hired a villiage hall for the reception and we are decorating it in the theme colour Pink. The problem is the hall chairs are the old navy plastic ones we used to use at school and we cant afford to hire any so how can i make them over cheaply!!!! Any ideas very very much appreciated Thanx Lisa xx

  • Wrapping some different shades of pink ribbon around the back maybe. if your good with the sewing machine you could make little cushions in pink material for them...not great i know but just an idea lol.

you could make covers using cheap pink material in a rectangle....the length of 3 squares the size of the base of the chair in a row, have the first square on the base of the seat, the second up the back of the seat and the 3rd hang down the back of the seat. you could have ribbon to join the bottom of the bit of material that hangs down the back of the chair with the piece that covers the base. I hope that makes sense.....hard to explain!!!.

I wouldn't worry too much to be honest... once people are seated and put their jackets and wat not over the backs then you'd never see them anyway :)
I'm buying a couple of lengths of organza of ebay for the chairs we're sitting on for the ceremony itself and then to be used during the meal but other than that I'm not decorating our chairs eventhough they SO do not go with the colourscheme lol!!!

At least navy looks good with pink - can you just leave them or even incorporate some navy into your colour scheme? i don;t think people notice chairs to be honest.

If you are really bothered, you could make covers to go on the back of the chair only, out of a piece of material folded over and sewn down the sides that you slip over the top. Would be easy to do.

good idea but i am hopeless at at sewing!! its not that big a deal i know and on £2000 it was never going to be extravagant, there is plenty of pink so hopefully that will distract them lol xx

Can you get some cheap pillow cases ? if so that might work just thinking quick since i am working.
put pillow case over back of chair cut up sides so it hangs half way down the back then put the bow round it. you can get some cheap fabric front hillside texiles to make them but i worked it out for daughters wedding and it would have cost about £1.50 per chair.
if i come up with anything else i will let you know
