toyota aygo 2016

I have a Toyota Eco 2016. I’ve just bought a month ago secondhand from Garage. The third brake light above back window seems to be collecting water in black box behind brake light and leaking into car. Anybody else have issues. have looked up and read that are ongoing issues like this does Toyota have to fix it. I did phone a local dealer and they want £167 just to look at it to find out the issue but I know the issue already. my car is getting soaking wet inside and I don’t have the money to fix it myself

It's a nearly 10yo car. The seal will have failed.

Look on eBay, and there's plenty of new pattern lights for £30 or so.
£167 is an hour's labour at a main dealer.

Water ingress on Aygo is very common from: high level stop lamp, interior vents (behind the rear bumper),rear lamp gaskets (both sides) rear doors (both sides) the water runs down the glass into the interior of the door & out the base onto the rear carpets, also the rear hinged windows fail off,

My suggestion would be to ask your local Toyota dealer if all the recalls have been done.

Aygos have always leaked.  We sold our 2006 model after 3 years because the boot was always full of water.  This was after extra gutters were fitted around doors to keep water out of the car.

My Peugeot was the same. I bought some clear sealant at screwfix and with a "gun" I squeezed it all around the outside, pushing it down with a wet finger then rounding it off so it didn't show. You can take the light out and do a proper job but bit of a faff and may break the plastic.

You could complain to the garage you bought it from; they might be prepared to fix it for you.
