Depends actually - if I'm reading it right, gilt yields across most durations dropped, which is the measure that's important for borrowers. It seems the bond markets took heart from the action to contain inflation, so demand less in return, which in turn makes borrowing cheaper (both for the government and us).subjecttocontract said:Not good for borrowers.2 -

Not directly, but indirectly they'll lower rates due to their borrowing costs being lower, which can happen if base rate holding helps contains inflation.subjecttocontract said:
