CCJ and home insurance

Hello

I realised that i had forgotten to put a CCJ  on when updating  insurance in 2024. The CCJ was back in 1995 and settled 2001. this resulted in increase in cost of insurance of around 75%. I accept that was my "error" but what annoys me more is that in the statement of insurance, shows  CCJ, IVA & Bankuptcy together, with answer Yes to all of them. On the original form they were separate and i obviously just put yes to the CCJ as I had have never had an IVA or been made  bankrupt. Hastings said thats the way they record the info but they know i only had the CCJ and that it was settled nearly 25 years ago. I obviously should have looked on this site to see whats what before being so honest. That aside how can they  put yes to things that are incorrect just because thats the way they record things ?

Normally the question would be worded as CCJ, IVA &/ or Bankuptcy so your declaration is you have one or more of them not necessarily all of them.

Certainly in the rating engines I've worked on the three came in together so you could separate the questions but when it comes to the impact on pricing the three are joined with an OR statement so you get the same result if you say yes to CCJ and no to the other two or yes to all three.
