It arrived yesterday and going to try it out later, it looks really good and the built is also very good. I had a Tefal easycord from next for £50 (in sales) but that went back after i got this and this is 50 times better.
It also has loads of cool features but gonna try it out later and will post back the results0 -
I'm the OP that wrote about the Philips Steam Generator and what I would like to add is that even though my iron is good and MUCH better than ordinary steam irons, I've had chance to look at other models and found features that I would have preferred.
For example, my model takes 8 minutes to heat up, I've seen other models that only take 2! You can't see how much water is left in mine, but some have little windows that show you - mine just runs out in the middle of something! The bases of some are quite small so you can put them on your ironing board, my ironing board would tip up if I did that!I saw another model in HofF the other day that stated you could 'instantly' refill it when it runs out, mine takes a while and you have to turn it off at the mains and wait for it to warm up again. Finally, my capacity is 1L where as some I've seen are 1.4L or more...
HTH others that are looking into buying their first steam generator iron, I'll know NEXT time!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -

The one i bought (above) takes 2 mins to heat up, you have a removable tank which you can see how much is left aswell as an alarm when it is empty. I do have a proper steam gen ironing board and it sits perfect in that.
And mine is also 1L.
Tested it on 2 pairs of jeans and oh my god i flew through them. I have tried on the curtains (a little creassed) but that is taking a little longer.
But overall very impressed.0 -

I had my last Russell Hobbs generator for about 3 years and was very happy with it, so thats why I got another Russell Hobbs one and I'm very happy with the new one. HTH.JUNE: Wine - DVD :j0 -
