It's worth noting that Klarna and others typically do both regulated and unregulated lending so it comes down to what type of lending it is.

Pay in 3 interest free is unregulated, its why its pay in 3 not pay in 4 as it is in many other countries.
  • I have messages on a Facebook post about the company having scammed others, loads of others by not delivering goods, exactly same as me, a friend of mine purchased as well and she didn't get her furniture, but she paid on card and got a full chargeback refund, it's because of Klarna, you can't contact the seller no response whatsoever, no phone number etc etc.

I was told by Klarna the recharged debt was being referred to debt collection agency and if I didn't pay it would be referred to credit reference agencies, I just didn't want to adversely affect my credit score having take years after the 2007 crisis building it back up again!

Lesson learnt, not to use Klarna.

What are APP rules? Ironically, looking on Klarna's website today, in direct reference to refunds, it states Klarna's refund process is straightforward....hmm    if you have not received the goods, you do not need to pay for them.  Klarna will process the refund within 5-7 business days after the retailer has registered your cancellation or return.   What appears to be the problem with that is the total non-engagement of the seller?  So do I not have any recourse to go back to Klarna again?  You would not believe how many emails I have between myself and Klarna

To be honest, the primary lesson should be not to buy from a 'fake company advertising on Facebook for "too good to be true" prices', even though you hoped Klarna would offer a safety net.

They relate to Authorised Push Payments but, as above, are irrelevant in your case as they relate to bank transfers not card payments.
