iphone 17 issues

Please help someone. I have new iphone and my messages are going as sms messages and not over wifi. I have googled and when I get to imessages-send&receive - my phone number appears with the spinningwheel next to it. I have googled the problem, followed on/off instruction/ signing in and out and everything else, but nothing works. I have now spent 2 hrs on this can anyone help on here, please?

    Is iMessage enabled in settings 

    Are you messaging someone with no wifi or someone who is using an android device

    iMessages use both cellular data and Wifi as available. 

    Make sure iMessage is turned on in Settings and that there is at least one number/email at in the "Send & Receive" section


    Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

    No they have iphone and wifi.

    Yes done this. My phone number has the spinning wheel that doesn't stop.
  • There is a spinning wheel within the iMessage app in Settings next to your phone number?

    Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it?
