Not sure exactly what the Barclay's app offers but TSB's proffer is rather limited - SMS alerts when your current account reaches ~ £50 or an overdraft limit and a daily or weekly balance alert + last 6 transactions.
Is Barclays like RBS/NatWest where every transaction can give an app push notification?1 -
Why are you looking to switch? If its for the bonus then I always think it's best to pick a bank based on your day to day needs and stick with them for your main banking and have a secondary account that you switch around to get the bonuses.

For many you need like direct debits, and I would like a lot of mine monitored too tbh. Although maybe not all, hmm.Rob5342 said:Why are you looking to switch? There are many ways of setting up any required DDs. Switching your main current account isn't necessary if your main objective is to bag a switch incentive.

If transaction notification is your top priority, stay clear of Santander as they still don't do them.1 -
You haven't explained why you want to switch. If you simply want notifications then Monzo and Starling are by far the best, and miles ahead of the old fashioned banks. As well as getting notifications of payments you also get notifications when direct debits are set up, and they also show up in the app a few days before they are taken and you get a notification if you don't have funds to cover it. Halifax have notifications but they are very poorly implemented and can take over an hour to show up. Nationwide are stuck in the stone age and didn't have any sort of notifications at all when I briefly used them once before. Co-Op are equally axchaic and don't have notifications either.1

Starling, Monzo, Chase all do this. They even give a notification the day before a DD is about go out1

Thanks, but I don't understand that thread at all? I will have to make a new regular account and keep mmy most important direct debits in it and then move the others to the reward accounts forever more. So what is this list.friolento said:There are many ways of setting up any required DDs. Switching your main current account isn't necessary if your main objective is to bag a switch incentive.

Likewise, I don't understand what you mean by having to "make a new regular account and keep mmy most important direct debits in it and then move the others to the reward accounts forever more"!Girthhitch said:

The point of that other thread is to highlight ways of 'manufacturing' DDs in order to make it easier to set up a secondary dummy account that can be switched in such a way as to qualify for an incentive, while leaving your main account (with its 'proper' DDs) unaffected.1 -
So I would have manufactured direct debits that merely pay myself back into another account? Didn't realize I could do that, thanks. So I can keep all my real ones in my preferred bank.eskbanker said:
