I tell them both not to send cards of any type to their grandchildren as they never call to say they got them or thank you.la531983 said:Or, simply dont bother sending cards out at all? Price of stamps is now ridiculous, also who is actually going to be offended if they didnt get a card?
Maybe its a generational thing, I dunno. I certainly wouldnt be if I didnt get a card from two people who clearly have failing health making them incapable of writing them.
All they want is to see if there is any money inside.1 -
I think Vistaprint or Moonpig will print custom cards with a 'handwritten' signature and message you can upload as part of the card design. A photo taken with a mobile can be tidied up if needed and uploaded1

I had a look earlier and I think it's the best way to go for the both of them.Vitor said:I think Vistaprint or Moonpig will print custom cards with a 'handwritten' signature and message you can upload as part of the card design. A photo taken with a mobile can be tidied up if needed and uploaded

Unless money is no object, perhaps they would prefer to at least sign their names. There's plenty of time before Christmas to do a few a day. I'd ask them whether they'd feel happier with some involvement. 🤔1

One of them has Parkinson's and they write so small it's hard to decipher.maman said:Unless money is no object, perhaps they would prefer to at least sign their names. There's plenty of time before Christmas to do a few a day. I'd ask them whether they'd feel happier with some involvement. 🤔
My dad has bad eyes, cataracts in both eyes so he struggles to write and reading is no go for him now.
Thanks for the reply though.0 -
Do Moonpig do a bulk option? Certainly printers can do them for sub 50p per card but Moonpig are normally 10x that or more. Obviously exact price depends on options chosen etc.Boohoo said:

I once had a card from an American friend that had a letter inside summarising their year. It as typed and went out to everyone, they were in their 40s so the card was also signed.
But maybe a letter inside a card could work as it could say something like, I am writing this letter as I want you to know my sight / writing is failing but I love sending and receiving cards at this special time of year and go on to give some highlights of events in 2025.
Otherwise definitely agree with the Moonpig style cards.0 -

I have gone with Vistaprint and they worked out at 40ppc as I used a discount code for 200 cards
I looked at Moonpig but thought they were expensive.0 -
My dad a similar experience with a relative from Canada who would write a 3 or 4 page letter but over the year so for the 1st 3 months it would be what happened and then after another 3 months she would start again and the the last input would be end November.mlz1413 said:I once had a card from an American friend that had a letter inside summarising their year. When you read the letter you could that she was struggling with her eyes by the time you finished the letter the writing was so small.
She was in her late 80's and eventually went blind.
As above in my last post I have gone with Vistaprint but I will bear in mind about the letter for next Xmas hoping they are both still alive next year.1 -
@Boohoo - I can see why they both wish to send cards, its still a lovely gesture that I reserve for my oldest friends. If each card generates a single interaction then it will be well worth the effort, so I'd be tempted to include their phone number after the signature as it will remind those out of sight to ring and catch up.
As for the grandchildren only having an interest in gift money and not thanking - I have to say I find that attitude appalling! Manners maketh the man.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2
